“It was crazy! I loved it,” Gold Derby’s Susan Wloszczyna tells Marcus James Dixon about what she thought of the third episode of “Survivor: Edge of Extinction.” She adds, “We got to see more of Extinction Island, which I appreciated. I’m glad Keith Sowell summoned the courage to join Reem Daly, who is his mother figure in this game.” Marcus agrees, saying that if Keith had decided to leave the game, “That’s something that he would have regretted for his entire life.” Watch our “Survivor” video recap above for Season 38, Episode 3.
Viewers learned a little bit more about Extinction Island in this episode, including the fact that the inhabitants will be given food in the form of rice. Susan remarks, “[That’s] good because apparently Reem hasn’t eaten for six days or whatever, since she found that original coconut. It’s not a good place to be. When they had their little reunion and all that, I go, ‘I think she needs him more than he needs her.'”
As for this week’s big blindside of Chris Underwood, we both laugh at the idea of Reem and Keith ordering him around Extinction Island. “Okay Chris, it’s your turn. You go get all the food,” jokes Marcus about the rice bowls that are left for these outcasts at the top of a tall staircase. He adds, “It’s very ‘Lost’ to me. Remember on ‘Lost’ they found the temple and there was all these weird things?”
“I don’t know what’s wrong with” Wendy Diaz, Susan notes about the castaway who’s so opposed to killing and eating the chickens that she hid the tribe’s flint so they couldn’t make fire. She explains, “She just could not eat the chicken if she didn’t want to. I don’t think they were gonna kill all of them because they want eggs and things like that.” And Marcus chimes in, “She knew what she was getting into. There are chickens almost every season on ‘Survivor.'”
Also in this week’s video recap, Susan and Marcus discuss how Chris’s elimination “didn’t make sense,” they cheer Aubry Bracco for finding her first-ever hidden immunity idol, they debate Dan “Wardog” DaSilva‘s bloodthirsty attitude toward the chickens, and they talk about their favorite island twists of all time.
