Susan Boyle sings ‘Wild Horses’ and gets Golden Buzzer from Mel B on ‘America’s Got Talent: The Champions’ [WATCH]

Susan Boyle returned in triumph to the franchise that launched her career in 2009. While she was only runner-up on “Britain’s Got Talent,” she could well win “America’s Got Talent: The Champions” after her stunning performance on Monday’s premiere. Watch the “AGT” video above.

She took to the stage with that same confidence that won over the world almost a decade ago. Back then she surprised everyone with her heartfelt rendition of “‘I’ve Dreamed a Dream” from “Les Miserables.” Tonight, she took on the Rolling Stones classic “Wild Horses” and made it her own. Rather than rock out, she slowed the tempo down and turned this into a sexy torch song.

Her rendition won over Mel B, who hit her Golden Buzzer sending Susan straight through to the Finals in five weeks time. Simon Cowell was left, almost, speechless. After admitting that he was thrilled that Susan had agreed to take part, he declared, “I can’t think of any other contestant who has defined this show better than you.” And Howie Mandel echoed that sentiment, saying he is always hoping to find an act that gives us another “Susan Boyle moment.”

While Boyle was only a runner-up on “BGT,” she says she sees herself as “a champion for those who, maybe, don’t have the confidence to do things, for those that don’t have a voice, the ones who people tend to ignore. I feel I’m a champion for them.”
