Taylor Swift is unbeatable at the 2019 American Music Awards. That’s according to our official odds, which are based on the combined predictions of hundreds of music fans who have given us their forecasts here in our predictions center. She’s nominated for five awards, and we think she’ll win every single one of them. Scroll down to see our complete predictions by artist.
Swift is nominated for — and predicted to win — Artist of the Year, Favorite Adult Contemporary Artist, Favorite Female Artist (Pop/Rock), Favorite Album (Pop/Rock) for “Lover” and Favorite Music Video for “You Need to Calm Down.” And that doesn’t even count the honorary Artist of the Decade award she’ll be accepting for her achievements throughout the 2010s.
There’s history at stake for Swift. She’s already the most awarded female artist of all time at the AMAs with 23 victories, and she only needs to win two of her five nominations to set a new record for the most AMAs won by any artist; Michael Jackson currently holds that distinction with 24 prizes. Swift is also looking to extend her record for the most Artist of the Year trophies. She has prevailed in that category four times to date (2009, 2011, 2013, 2018).
The good news for other artists at these awards is that there are 24 more categories where Swift isn’t nominated, giving them plenty of chances to take home hardware of their own. Among those, the Korean boy band BTS is also expected to sweep, claiming all three of their nominations: Favorite Duo or Group (Pop/Rock), Favorite Social Artist and Tour of the Year.
Khalid is the favorite in three soul/R&B categories: Favorite Male Artist, Favorite Album (“Free Spirit”) and Favorite Song (“Talk”). And Post Malone, who leads the nominations with seven, is expected to come away with three prizes himself: Favorite Male Artist (Pop/Rock), Favorite Male Artist (Rap/Hip-Hop) and Favorite Album (Rap/Hip-Hop) for “Hollywood’s Bleeding.”
See who else will win below. And be sure to make or update your own predictions here before the winners are announced this weekend.
