Leg 10 of “The Amazing Race 31” is just gonna be a massive case of déjà vu.
The final five teams are off to the Netherlands, where they will encounter a Switchback to the infamous pole vault task of Seasons 12 and 21. Let’s hope it’s as difficult and hilarious as it was in Season 12 and not in 21. Judging by a sneak peek of birthday girl Nicole Franzel flopping into the muddy ditch, we’re halfway there.
Then there’s a tandem bike task that requires teams to transport eggs to town. We all know what happened the last time Floyd Pierce had to transport something on a bicycle: He got heatstroke, and he and Becca Droz got Philiminated. But eggs are easier to carry than 2,913 shrimp traps.
As revealed by Colin Guinn on Instagram, there’s also a task that involves hoisting a giant fake cow up a clocktower. Man, they really are trying to trigger him, huh?

This week we head to #amsterdam, where we encounter more bovine challenges! Cows and clock towers, oh my 😂 . My big brother @treyguinn lived in Amsterdam for many years, so I had a little extra motivation to run a great leg! . Check out @theamazingrace_cbs Wednesday night to see who makes it to the top four! . #tar31 #theamazingrace #goodvibes #redlight #arcteryx #colinandchristie
And yes, the Double U-Turn is back. This one will definitely be more brutal than the one back in Leg 2. There’s no real reason to U-Turn anyone in Leg 2 unless you’re in the back of the pack, but it’s every man for himself when you’re down to the final five. Maybe Tyler Oakley and Korey Kuhl will finally be targeted after winning four legs in a row. Seriously, they’re just casually dominating over here while everyone else was caught up in that U-Turn drama a few legs ago.
A non-“Race” team still has not won a leg and the odds are against it happening now. With Chris Hammons and Bret LaBelle‘s elimination last week, Nicole and Victor Arroyo are the only non-“Race” team left.
Below, check out our minute-by-minute blog of the June 19 episode.
Keep refreshing for the latest updates!
8:00 p.m. – As the winners of the last leg of the race, Tyler and Korey are the first to leave Croatia and head northwest to Amsterdam. After touching down, teams will take a train to the town of Kampen, where they must locate designated tandem bicycles.
8:15 p.m. – Nicole and Victor join Tyler and Korey on the first flight to Amsterdam. The rest of the teams will fly out later, but the bicycle racks don’t open until 9 a.m. so the teams are all on equal footing. Once on their bicycles, teams will ride to of Jachthaven where they will search for their next clue. It’s a bike race! Teams aren’t exactly moving at a blazing speed on these tandem bikes and everyone generally arrives at the same time. Nicole and Victor are the first to find the clue box and read this leg’s Detour: “High” or “Dry.” In “High,” teams will have to hoist a fake cow to the top of a building. I think this may be more difficult than it sounds. In “Dry,” teams must ride their bike to a dairy farm, vault themselves across a creek and pick up 2 cheeses and a dozen eggs to be delivered. It looks like Victor and Nicole are the only team to choose “Dry,” which could make or break them. Nicole is mortified when she sees she has to vault across a ditch and promptly face plants into the water. Her predictable complaining soon follows and she begs Victor to switch challenges.
8:25 p.m. – Nicole finally got across the ditch (well, sort of) and they collected their cheese and eggs. Since Nicole was terrible on the pole vault, Victor made sure he carried all of the eggs back over so none would break. They’re now headed off to complete their delivery and this challenge may be just what Vicole needed to launch themselves into a first place finish! Meanwhile, the other teams finally arrive at the cow-hoisting challenge only to learn that they must complete it in 45 seconds or start over. Tyler/Korey and Colin/Christie both finish on their first attempt and collect their next clue. They’ll ride their bikes to to their next clue and a game-changing Double U-Turn. Colin/Christie and Tyler/Korey are first to arrive and decide not to use the U-Turn. They were wise to know that the three teams behind them would use it, so why get blood on their hands?
8:35 p.m. Teams must now drive themselves to Smit Giethoorn boat rental to collect their next clue. After being lost for a majority of this leg, Becca and Floyd are just now beginning their Detour. Meanwhile, Nicole and Victor finish their Detour and head to the U-Turn. The Afghanimals are headed to the same location and both teams are targeting each other. Ultimately, the Afghanimals arrive first and U-Turn Nicole and Victor. In turn, they U-Turned Becca and Floyd. After completing their first Detour, Team Fun is headed towards their next clue box and about to realize they’ve been U-Turned. Meanwhile, Colin and Christie were the first to reach their next clue which directs them to race by boat to their next Pit Stop. That may sound simpler than it is. They must find their way through a maze of waterways to pick up their marked boat and then carefully steer it through the tricky canals to find Phil. The last team to arrive will be eliminated.
8:45 p.m. – Nicole and Victor pedaled right past their second Detour and wasted a lot of time lost in the streets. They eventually find their destination, but Nicole’s complaining is reaching epic levels and Victor has the patience of a saint to deal with her. Meanwhile, Becca and Floyd cruised through their second Detour, only to learn one of their eggs was cracked and they’d have to do it all over again. Over at the cow hoisting challenge, Victor and Nicole failed their first attempt and appear completely exhausted. They complete the challenge on their second attempt and avoid last place for now. Up at the front of the pack, Colin and Christie were the first to locate their marked boats and reach the Pit Stop in first place! They’ve won $7,500 each.
8:50 p.m. – Nicole and Victor are leading Becca and Floyd for now, but anything can happen when they reach the canals. Meanwhile, the Afghanimals can’t locate their second marked boat and could find themselves in trouble if they waste too much more time. To make matters worse, their boat engine dies. Will Becca and Floyd have time to catch up and avoid elimination?
8:59 p.m. – Leo and Jamal get their boat working again and continue looking for their next boat. At this point, Nicole/Victor and Team Fun are in the canal as well. The Afghanimals and Nicole/Victor find their second marked boats and race to the Pit Stop. Becca and Floyd eventually locate theirs, but it’s too late. They are the last team to reach Phil and Team Fun is eliminated from the race.
Results of Leg Nine: 1. Colin & Christie (“The Amazing Race”) 2. Tyler & Korey (“The Amazing Race”) 3. Leo & Jamal (“The Amazing Race”) 4. Victor & Nicole (“Big Brother”) Eliminated: Becca & Floyd (“The Amazing Race”)
