It’s been all-“Race” teams all the time on “The Amazing Race,” and you really hope that doesn’t continue in the two-hour finale. In a recent poll, 77 percent of our readers are rooting for Nicole Franzel and Victor Arroyo, the final non-“Race” team left, to prevent an all-“Race” final three.
Nic and Vic are up against the three remaining “Race” teams: Colin Guinn and Christie Woods, Tyler Oakley and Korey Kuhl, and Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran. In the preview after last week’s episode, Korey says he and Tyler would love to have an all-“Race” final three, and Nicole later says that the “Race” teams are working together without her and Victor. And really, you can’t blame the “Race” teams for working together and they probably wouldn’t be upset if an all-“Race” final three didn’t come to fruition (well, except for the fourth-place team).
Nicole and Victor are definitely the underdogs, but who doesn’t love an underdog? Every leg has been won by a “Race” team so far, and Vicole has been the closest to a non-“Race” team victory with four second-place finishes. From the jump, they were the quickest of the “Big Brother” and “Survivor” duos to adjust to the rigors of the “Race,” posting three of those silver medal placements on Legs 2 through 4. They’ve survived a Speed Bump, a U-Turn and that hella confusing fight with the Reilly sisters, so they should feel like a “Race” team, but can they beat them? Trying to overcome three teams who are banding together against you will be tough, but there are a lot of factors outside of your control on the “Race.”
The remaining 23 percent want to see the “Race” trio of duos complete the sweep of wins. All three “Race” teams have won multiple legs, with two each for the Afghanimals, and Colin and Christie, and a whopping four in a row for Tyler and Korey. Honestly, if it weren’t for Team Fun, Becca Droz and Floyd Pierce, who won two legs, not checking their eggs last week, we probably would’ve had an all-“Race” final four.
The two-hour “Amazing Race” finale airs Wednesday at 9/8c on CBS.
