Well, it happened. We’ve finally found a physical activity that Colin Guinn and Christie Woods haven’t done yet: riding a tandem bike. That’s one of the tasks on Wednesday’s episode of “The Amazing Race.”
“Today was our first time to ever ride a tandem bike. It’s like you go to steer and the bike doesn’t turn,” Colin says in a sneak peek of Leg 10 (watch above). “It’s like driving a barge.”
Christie is shown to be struggling hopping onto the second seat, but we’re sure these two friggin’ comp beasts got the hang of it at a certain point. And it’s not like anyone else is having an easier time. The Afghanimals, Leo Temory and Jamal Zadran, nearly fall over, while Tyler Oakley and Korey Kuhl eventually figure out a hack. “The rhythm that we finally got into was pedaling and Tyler not pedaling,” Korey says.
And then there’s Floyd Pierce, who probably got PTSD when he saw he had to ride a bike. “Last time I was on ‘The Amazing Race’ and encountered bicycles, it didn’t go quite well,” he notes of his Season 29 mishap delivering shrimp traps during which he came down with heatstroke, leading to his and Becca Droz‘s mercy elimination. “Ultimately it’s just a lot easier when you don’t have a bunch of shrimp traps on your bike.”
They do, however, have eggs in their (bike) baskets, which they have to deliver across town in the Netherlands. The leg, which includes a Switchback to the pole vault task, also features a Double U-Turn. It also occurred on Nicole Franzel‘s birthday, so it’ll be doubly cruel if she and Victor Arroyo are U-Turned and she keeps eating dirty water for her birthday.
“The Amazing Race” airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on CBS.
