‘The Masked Singer’ Alien delivers ‘Happy’ performance as police badge clue hints at La Toya Jackson [WATCH]

After Alien’s latest performance of Pharrell Williams‘ “Happy” on Episode 5 of “The Masked Singer,” a physical clue was revealed that hinted at her true identity: a police badge. At first judges Nicole Scherzinger, Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy and Robin Thicke were confused, until they realized that the badge was from Indiana. That made Nicole jump out of her chair in excitement, since the Jackson family famously hails from Gary, Indiana. Robin wondered aloud, “If you go with the Jacksons, is it La Toya Jackson“? “The person I thought definitely ain’t the police,” joked host Nick Cannon when he saw the police badge clue. As the audience chuckled, Alien responded, “This badge is not a prop. I swore to protect and serve.” Hmm, could that be a reference to the reality TV show “Armed & Famous” in which La Toya underwent basic training to become a reserve police officer?

The police badge also threw Jenny for a loop. “I thought it was Nicole Richie but she got arrested, so you can’t really do the arresting,” she noted. Paris Hilton and Kimberly Stewart‘s names was also thrown out since there were a couple of “A Simple Life” clues in the video package.

After watching Alien’s performance Nicole stated, “I was very Nicole Richie vibes until I heard her sing, like really sing tonight. She’s got a little bit of soul in there and a sweetness to her voice and she was moving.” Ken dismissed his colleagues’ guesses and said that he thought Alien was Britney Spears because of the snake references.

Previous clues hinted that Alien “grew up in the public’s eye” and that “anonymity is a completely alien concept.” Both of those seem to fit La Toya. Backstage Alien bragged, “The panel was doing so well but that police badge, it totally threw them off. I love being anonymous and I definitely want to be the last mask standing.”
