“I just got all chocked up. I wasn’t expecting that. You hit my heart,” proclaimed a teary-eyed Robin Thicke during Bee’s third performance in Wednesday’s episode of “The Masked Singer.” The black-and-yellow buzz-worthy character has long been thought to be a legendary soul singer like Gladys Knight, Patti LaBelle or Diana Ross, but the four judges — Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke and Ken Jeong — had trouble agreeing on which one. Watch Bee’s latest “The Masked Singer” performance above of Miley Cyrus‘ “Wrecking Ball.”
Robin added that “Wrecking Ball” was a “perfect song” for Bee, noting, “When you get to those high notes, there are very few singers that could accomplish what you did. I think it could be Gladys Knight. I actually recognized your stage persona because I’ve seen you perform many times before. I recognized the way you held the mic.”

Nicole, however, wasn’t as confident as Robin. “I’m not sure, but you shined so much this week. Your voice has a mature sound to it. You’re a seasoned singer and that was unbelievable. Thank you so much for that.” Ken doesn’t do much guessing, as he instead uses his time to brag about how he was the only judge who correctly predicted last week that Tori Spelling was hiding behind the Unicorn mask.
Bee’s clues package revealed that she’s been performing “for a long time.” She thought she’d done everything in this business, but “dressing as an insect is definitely a first for me.” Bee originally got the idea to form a group from “my mama” when she was just eight years old, and everything has been “peaches and marmalade” ever since. Who do YOU think is under the Bee costume?

In his “The Masked Singer” live blog, our recapper Denton Davidson had this to say about the performance: “Bee is up to perform ‘Wrecking Ball’ by Miley Cyrus and Robin says it’s definitely Gladys Knight. As always, Bee sounds fantastic, but doesn’t move around the stage a whole lot. There’s no question this woman is a pro and Jenny is on the verge of tears watching the performance. Following the performance, Robin was choked up as well and commends her outstanding vocals.”
