‘The Masked Singer’ episode 11 recap: Who was unmasked after Top 6 performed on December 10? [UPDATING LIVE BLOG]

With the holidays fast approaching, “The Masked Singer” is doubling down this week with two new episodes on Tuesday and Wednesday. Up first, Tuesday’s hour notably welcomed back last year’s winner T-Pain (aka Monster), who joined panelists Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke in trying to determine the identities of the Top 6 costumed celebs. Flamingo, Fox, Leopard, Rottweiler, Thingamajig and Tree gave it their all on the stage, but one was voted out and forced to unmask in front of America. So who went home with their tail between their legs, and who advanced to Wednesday’s Final 5 showdown?

Below, check out our minute-by-minute “The Masked Singer” recap of Season 2, Episode 11, titled “A Pain in the Mask,” to find out what happened Tuesday, December 10 at 8/7c. 8:00 p.m. — “Previously on ‘The Masked Singer’!” In last week’s 10th episode, Michelle Williams was unmasked as Butterfly after losing her head-to-head battle against Fox and her smackdown against Thingamajig. Panelists Jenny, Nicole and Robin guessed correctly that the Destiny’s Child singer was hiding under the Butterfly mask, with Ken picking Mel B and Joel McHale going with Victoria Beckham. Will the judges correctly predict the secret identity of tonight’s eliminated contestant?

8:10 p.m. – First up tonight hoping for a spot in the semi-final is Fox. We see him reading a book called “A Guide on How to Break-Up” and he says he wants to “fly away” and he is ready to be “unchained.” At this point Fox is clearly referencing every person they’ve guessed him to be just to throw people off. One thing he references that we’ve heard many times before is something about being a superhero. For his performance, Fox is singing “Blame It” by Jamie Foxx and tonight’s guest panelist T-Pain. He’s jazzing up the intro and proceeds to dance around the stage and impress the judges with his vocals. Could this be Tyrese? I have been a bit stuck on Wayne Brady for weeks but this performance makes me question everything. I just don’t know if Wayne has this sort of sex appeal in him! Even if he’s dressed in a Fox uniform. As a clue, Fox reveals he’s spent one of the best weekends of his life with someone on the panel! They proceed to guess Wayne Brady, Lenny Kravitz or Jamie Foxx could be under the mask.

8:20 p.m. — Leopard is up next and the elegant cat is shown tennis players and tofu. We see a check for $20 million and a motorcycle crash. Hmm. Tonight he’s singing “We are Young” by Fun. I love how Leopard stays in character and I also love his voice. I am a fan of this artist because I’ve been nearly certain for weeks that this is Seal. After a few not-so-great song choices this is Leopard’s best performance in weeks! Fox reveals he once presented an award at an awards show that included one of the panelists and he was wearing a custom leather outfit, “darling!” Some of the guesses of Leopard’s identity from the panel are Eric Benet, Seal and Enrique Iglesias (LOL @ Ken).

8:30 p.m. — It’s time to hear from Thingamajig after his near elimination last week. He references “Back At One,” likely because Brian McKnight was guessed by one of the panelists in a previous episode. We also see him holding a guitar and passing out MVP cards. Tonight he’s singing “Ordinary People” by John Legend. The audience seems to like seeing Thingamajig’s sensitive side so this may bode well for him. The panel is blown away by his voice and Thingamajig reveals he has collaborated with the same artist as someone on the panel. Some of the guesses include John Legend himself, Orlando Magic player Markelle Fultz and Montell Jordan.

8:35 p.m. — We quickly go into tonight’s next performer, Flamingo, who can’t believe she’s flown so high in the competition. She references “Sittin’ Up In My Room,” a Brandy song, and also talks about going from being “clueless” to “celebrated.” She talks about mingling with other flamingos and seems to reference being on television. Tonight she’s singing “Go Your Own Way” by Fleetwood Mac. We hear more of Flamingo’s lower tone than previous weeks and she’s giving more of a rock vibe. It’s not the most impressive vocal performance we’ve heard from her but she’s rocking the stage. I appreciate that she isn’t afraid to throw a dance routine into the performance. Following her performance, Flamingo reveals she has shared some couch time with one of the panelists in 2013. The panel guesses she is Hillary Duff, Adrienne Bailon or Fantasia.

8:45 p.m. — Now it’s time to hear from Tree. She’s always hedging her bets that she’s going home and can’t believe she’s still there. She misses collaborating and misses her friends. She also mentions cheering and we see rainbows and people combing hair. It’s all a bit confusing. Tonight she’s singing “Edge of Glory” by Lady Gaga and showing off her sassy side. Tree has really come out of her shell in recent weeks and is becoming quite the front-runner! Tree reveals she has shared the stage and a standing ovation with someone on the panel. After that, the panel guesses Tree is Bebe Neuwirth, Rachael Ray or Mariah Carey.

8:55 p.m. — The final performer of the night is Rottweiler who reveals week after week he has tried to face his insecurities. We see him meditating and he mentions swimming from the “deep end” to the shallow” and also says something about “my so called life.” Tonight he’s singing “Someone You Loved” by Lewis Capaldi. The panel looks shocked to hear Rottweiler singing a ballad and Nicole almost immediately starts crying. He is NAILING this and I’m certain it’s Chris Daughtry. The panel gives the big dog a standing ovation before he reveals he has been on the same “list” as someone on the panel and it was not “Sexiest Man Alive.” The panel guesses Rottweiler is Darren Criss, Jared Leto or Bow Wow.

8:59 p.m. — After six colorful performances it is time for one of these characters to unmask. The votes are in and the undercover celebrity singer leaving tonight is Tree! Poor tree. The panel submits their final guesses as follows: Robin – Amy Sedaris, Nicole – Amy Sedaris, Jenny – Ana Gasteyer, Ken – Bebe Neuwirth and T-Pain – Mariah Carey. So let’s see who is right! Tree unmasks to reveal Ana Gasteyer! Jenny jumps for joy and screams “I just peed.” That’s a wrap for tonight! The top five will sing again on Wednesday night.
