Talk about scary! In our recent poll that asked for YOUR final guesses for who’s hiding inside the Monster costume on Fox’s reality TV show “The Masked Singer,” a majority of voters (62%) said it’s someone the judges haven’t even considered. There is precedent for this, as just last week Lion unmasked to reveal Rumer Willis, surprising every single panelist. Rounding out our poll results, 27% said CeeLo Green is actually the Monster while 11% said it’s Darius Rucker. Find out Monster’s true identity when the two-hour season finale of “The Masked Singer” airs Wednesday, February 27 at 8/7c.
In last week’s semi-finals episode, Monster performed Sam Smith‘s “Stay With Me” and was voted into the top three along with Peacock and Bee. Robin Thicke brought up Darius from Hootie & the Blowfish, suggesting, “[He’s] a very good singer. He said he’s a father. He also is a very humble, kind man.” While the other panelists loved that choice, Ken Jeong wasn’t confident that Darius’ dancing abilities were as good as Monster’s have been so far on the show.
Guest panelist Kenan Thompson then brought up CeeLo’s name. “I thought CeeLo Green when he was talking, [but] not necessarily when he was singing.” Since CeeLo once served as a coach on “The Voice,” it’s not hard to envision him on another reality TV program. As for the other judges, Ken guessed Jamie Foxx and Jenny McCarthy picked Calvin Harris, but we’re not buying either of those choices.
Here’s what some of our savvy readers had to say about Monster’s true identity:
Brewlord: Definitely T-Pain. There’s a video online of him singing without auto tune. Sounds like home to me.
Joy Miller: T-Pain is my prediction. Height is correct and he can really, really sing well without autotune. The distinctive runs the Monster does are extremely reminiscent of T-Pain.
Pauline Martin: Fab Morvan from Milli Vanilli.
Lily: I think the monster is Wayne Brady.
Mike: My guess for the monster is Russell Crowe.
Jennifer Bourne: I believe the monster is Martin Lawrence. I thought also Kevin hart. Until the bad boys clue.
Elloise: MC Hammer.
Robert: Vanilla Ice.
Jason: The Monster is 100% T-Pain. Sounds just like him. Last week during the clues he even said “I’ve been told my voice sounds like a ringtone.” C’mon!?!
