At long last — the introductory phase of “The Masked Singer” Season 2 is almost over. On the Wednesday, October 9 episode of Fox’s wild and wacky reality TV show, you’ll meet the four final costumed celebrities of this fall cycle: Eagle, Flower, Fox and Penguin. Get your first look at these Group D contestants by clicking through our preview photos above.
On this week’s episode, this quirky foursome will battle in two separate head-to-head match-ups, with the studio audience and panelists (Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke) voting for which two they want to see again. The bottom two vote-getters will then face off in a Smackdown, with one surviving to another day and the other having to unmask in front of America.
Group A said goodbye to Egg (figure skater Johnny Weir) after his performances of “Just Dance” by Lady Gaga and “One Way or Another” by Blondie failed to impress the crowd. “I would tell anyone to come on ‘The Masked Singer’ just because you get to feel good about yourself,” Weir said after his unmasking. “You get to live out those childhood boy band dreams.”
Group B’s eliminated singer was Ice Cream (gamer Ninja), who lost his match-ups when he took on “Old Town Road” by Lil Nas X and Billy Ray Cyrus and “Whip It” by Devo. After the show Ninja revealed, “I chose the Ice Cream because of my blue hair and, I mean, I love sweets. It was kind of perfect.”
For Group C, Panda (boxer Laila Ali) was cut after giving it her all in “Stronger (What Doesn’t Kill You)” by Kelly Clarkson and “All I Do Is Win” by DJ Khaled. “I was a ball of nerves out there, but it was so much fun,” proclaimed the undefeated boxing champion. “This entire experience has been amazing.”
Who do you think will be eliminated from Group D: Eagle, Flower, Fox or Penguin? Give us your predictions below. The fourth episode of “The Masked Singer” airs Wednesday, October 9 on Fox.
