Fox’s reality TV show “The Masked Singer” revealed its fifth celebrity at the end of Wednesday’s episode that welcomed back four costumed characters for their third performances: Rabbit, Unicorn, Alien and Lion. Unfortunately, Unicorn ended up being voted out by the studio audience and judges Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke, so she had to unmask himself in dramatic fashion (watch above). Did YOU guess that it was actually actress/author Tori Spelling inside the Unicorn costume singing Icona Pop‘s “I Love It”?
“This right now, performing in front of people, is my biggest fear in life,” admitted Tori after she took off her mask. “I always wanted to sing and I love singing. When I was little someone told me I was tone deaf and it stayed with me my whole life. I love singing with my kids and I wanted them to know that they could be whatever they want to be. I’m sad it took me this long in life to feel confident and feel like I could do something like this, but I’m glad ‘The Masked Singer’ brought it out in me.”
Before the big reveal each of the judges made their final picks for who they thought was behind the Unicorn mask. Robin thought that it might be Gabby Douglas due to some of the gymnastics clues. Jenny took the “hills” reference to mean Lauren Conrad. Nicole opted for Denise Richards because of an earlier clue about her losing her “sheen.” Only Ken correctly guessed that Tori was actually the Unicorn.
For the first time the Unicorn brought out a physical clue for the audience to digest, and she chose a typewriter. Tori said that it was her late father Aaron Spelling‘s typewriter, explaining, “It’s old-school but he started every one of his scripts throughout forever on that, and then I got it when he passed.”
Tori is now the fifth singer to unmask in front of America, following Pittsburgh Steelers football player Antonio Brown (as Hippo), comedic legend Tommy Chong (as Pineapple), NFL personality Terry Bradshaw (as Deer) and comedienne Margaret Cho (as Poodle). Let us know down in the comments section whether you guessed that Tori was hiding behind the Unicorn costume on “The Masked Singer” Episode 5.
