The first season of “The Masked Singer” was a wild success, with such names as T-Pain, Donny Osmond and Gladys Knight performing while wearing extravagant costumes. With the second cycle just around the corner, it’s time for Gold Derby to make our predictions for who might be stepping onto the stage next. Below, get a sneak peek at six of our dream cast members for “The Masked Singer” Season 2 and then be sure to click through our gallery above to see all 20 photos.
Nick Cannon hosted the breakout first season, with the judging panel consisting of Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke. While those episodes were all pre-taped, our hope for Season 2, due out this fall on Fox, is that the show goes live so that the at-home audience can have a say in who stays and who goes. Looking ahead to Season 3, the network has already announced that it will air right after the Super Bowl on February 2, 2020. No word yet on the fall premiere date for Season 2.
Louis Tomlinson — If Joey Fatone could compete in Season 1 then there’s no reason why another boy bander shouldn’t take the plunge. Our vote is for Tomlinson, the one-fifth of One Direction not currently reaching the solo success of his brothers. He’s also not unfamiliar with the reality competition format since One Direction themselves were third place finishers on “The X Factor.”
Lindsay Lohan — The former child star has had a difficult time adjusting to adulthood with multiple stints in rehab and a few run-ins with the law. But the “Mean Girls” star was once the “it girl” of Hollywood and released two albums as well. Perhaps all Lohan needs for a full comeback is a little disguise!
David Hasselhoff — Most of us know The Hoff because of his television fame — “Baywatch” and “America’s Got Talent” come to mind — but the reality is that he truly is a triple threat. He was (is?) a bonafide pop star in Germany in the 80s and as recently as 2015 has been recording new music. What better way to bridge all his talents together than here?!
Sarah Silverman — The boundary-pushing comic isn’t afraid to get into character as proven by the many comedy specials, television series and films she’s done. But one of her other passions is music. She’s penned beautiful melodies like “Poop Song” and “Doody Song.” But in all seriousness, she’s a solid singer and would definitely put everything into her character!
Clay Aiken — Since we’re talking about reality TV voices, we have to include Aiken who, since “American Idol” Season 2, has brought the theatrics with his stints on Broadway’s “Spamalot.” That’s just the kind of hamming it up that it takes to succeed on this show, so why wouldn’t he want to seize the opportunity to place better than runner-up?
Tyra Banks — After a successful run as one of the most sought-after supermodels of all time, Banks became a media mogul, hosting her own talk show and creating “America’s Next Top Model.” She even gave singing a try when she released the single “Shake Ya Body.” Banks knows how to ham it up on stage and would be a fun addition to the show.
