“The Masked Singer” comes to an end on Wednesday and we’ll finally get to find out who is hiding inside those costumes dressed as the Peacock, Monster and Bee. The first two of those contestants are men and viewers are not sure just who those famous fellows are. However, they are all but certain that the Bee is a Grammy-winning singer. Spoilers ahead.
As of this writing, 82% of “The Masked Singer” fans think that the Bee is Gladys Knight. Do you agree with them? Read our rationale below and then vote in the poll. If you think the Bee is someone else then be sure to put your best guess in the comments section.
Robin Thicke has the best track record among the four judges for guessing the famous faces hidden behind these masks. After listening to her nail the Aretha Franklin classic “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman” in the semi-final, Robin is convinced that the Bee is Gladys. Ken Jeong disagreed, and suggested it is Patti LaBelle who is disguising her voice to sound like Gladys.

We are tempted to agree with Ken until we recall her performances to date. Since the Bee sang her first song — “Chandelier” by Sia — she has consistently delivered. She nailed her covers of “Locked Out of Heaven” by Bruno Mars, “Wrecking Ball” by Miley Cyrus and “What’s Love Got to Do with It” by Tina Turner.

And then there are the clues that the Bee has given along the way. These all point to her being Gladys. The most revealing of these was when she admitted, “You can call me Queen Bee, but empress also suits me.” Gladys is well-known as the Empress of Soul.

Were that not enough to convince you, the Bee said she has been singing since the 1950s (Gladys got her start on TV’s ‘Ted Mack’s The Original Amateur Hour’ in 1952). And she revealed that she has recorded plenty of hits (Gladys has racked up 11 number-one R&B singles and six number-one R&B albums).
