Of the four celebrities to perform on “The Masked Singer” on January 30, we are most convinced that we know the real identity of the famous face behind the Lion. She raised her voice in song once again, nailing her cover of the Mamas and Papas hit “California Dreamin’.” That choice of song makes us even more sure that we know who is hidden beneath this elaborate costume and mask. SPOILERS AHEAD
This is one instance where the judges have led us in the right direction. Nicole Scherzinger, who had hits as part of the Pussycat Dolls, says she doesn’t think that the Lion is a professionally trained singer. Our best guess for who is lurking beneath that lion costume certainly fits that description: Rumer Willis.
Rumer is the middle of three daughters of a famous mama and papa: Demi Moore and Bruce Willis. At the end of one of the clues video, the Lion was holding a newspaper with the headline “Gold found in Hailey.” Rumer’s parents invested heavily in the small ski resort town of Hailey, Idaho.
WEEK FIVE SPOILERS: Who are the Alien, Rabbit, Unicorn
As for her choice of costume: Rumer was born on August 16, so that makes her a Leo (as in lion). And among her 22 tattoos was one of the face of a lion that filled her upper left arm. Add to that the fact that Rumer recently appeared on the Fox drama “Empire,” which is centered around the lives of the Lyon family.
WEEK SIX SPOILERS: Who are the Bee, Monster, Peacock
The Lion has said, “I tell my pride you have to be strong and stand up for what you believe in.” And she revealed, “for me, using my voice to help others has always been very important.” Rumer has been extremely vocal about social justice and has taken part in various protest marches over the years.
We won’t find out for sure if Rumer is the Lion till she is unmasked. That will only happen if she loses a match-up or wins the show. Do you think we are right about the true identity of the Lion? Sound off in the comments section with your best guesses.
