‘The Masked Singer’ spoiler: The Monster is …

The five stars who survived week one of “The Masked Singer” returned to the show on Wednesday to once more climb into cumbersome costumes and perform for the four judges (Ken LeongJenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke) plus guest panellist Joel McHale. While the Deer lost the audience vote and was revealed to be NFL legend Terry Bradshaw, the other four acts — the Peacock, Lion and Unicorn and Monster — will be back in two weeks to sing once again.

But we don’t want to wait until then to learn who at least one of them is. So, we’ve been analyzing their clues videos and the observations of the judges and have come up with a spoiler as to the real names of each of these acts. We remain convinced that the Monster is the rapper T-Pain.

WEEK TWO SPOILERS: Who are Alien , Bee , PoodleRabbitRaven

In his second clues video, the Monster readily admits to being worried that he was going to be eliminated in week one. He says he climbed in his Cadillac and drove up from the south (T-Pain is from Tallahassee, Florida).

His declaration that he likes “to keep my head in the game” coupled with a shot of New York City had Robin thinking that it was baseball player Derek Jeter. But his stellar performance of “I Don’t Want To Be” by Gavin DeGraw capped off by that electrifying falsetto note means that the Monster is clearly a trained singer.

WEEK THREE SPOILERS: Who are Lion, PeacockUnicorn

Back in week one, the Monster said he chose this costume “because that’s what the world labelled me.” T-Pain’s career went into a slump after being featured on more than 50 chart topping singles from 2006 to 2011. He declared he was doing the show in order “to re-write my mixed tape to prove that I am more than just puff and fluff.” T-Pain came under fire for his singing style, which relied heavily on the use of Auto Tune. However, his more recent recordings have showcased his outstanding voice.

We won’t find out for sure if T-Pain is the Monster till he is unmasked. That will only happen if he loses the audience vote or wins the show. Do you think we are right about the true identity of the Monster? Sound off in the comments section with your best guesses.
