Fox’s reality TV show “The Masked Singer” revealed its fourth celebrity at the end of Wednesday’s episode that welcomed back five costumed characters for encore performances: Alien, Bee, Poodle, Rabbit and Raven. Unfortunately, Poodle ended up being voted out by the studio audience and judges Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke and guest Joel McHale, so she had to unmask himself in dramatic fashion (watch above). Did YOU guess that it was actually actress/comedian Margaret Cho inside the Poodle costume singing Cyndi Lauper‘s “Time After Time”?
“I loved being on ‘The Masked Singer,” Margaret declared after the credits rolled. “It was so exciting to be hidden behind everything. I really am good friends with Ken Jeong. I played his sister on his TV show. I’m really glad that people got to see a different side to who I am. I think the poodle mask was me because I’m fluffy and I’m pink but I’m still a bitch.”
Before the big reveal each of the judges made their final guesses for who they thought was behind the Poodle mask. Robin thought that it might be “a very fit Judge Judy” due to some of the legal references. Because of the LGBTQ vibe and the workout clues, both Nicole and Joel guessed Jillian Michaels. Since the Poodle mentioned being fired a lot, that led Jenny to think Kathy Griffin. And Ken went with the out-of-the-box choice of Melissa Rivers.
As the audience shouted, “Take it off! Take it off!” the Poodle reached up to remove her costumed head, ultimately revealing Margaret Cho. The comedian extraordinaire told Jenny, “You were very close.” She then added, “Ken, I thought you would know. We’re family!” Margaret and Ken starred as siblings on ABC’s comedy series “Dr. Ken” (2015-17).
Margaret is now the fourth singer to unmask in front of America, following Pittsburgh Steelers football player Antonio Brown (as Hippo), comedic legend Tommy Chong (as Pineapple) and NFL personality Terry Bradshaw (as Deer).
