We’d already seen the Fox perform four times on “The Masked Singer” before his appearance in the quarter-final on December 10. He first wowed the crowd in week 3 with his version of “This Love” by Maroon 5. He followed that up with his cover of the Panic! at the Disco hit “Hey Look Ma, I Made It” in week 5 and then “Every Little Step” by Bobby Brown in week 8.
Last week he won his showdown with the Butterfly when he crooned “Tennessee Whiskey” by Chris Stapleton. The Butterfly was eliminated and revealed to be one-time Destiny’s Child singer Michelle Williams. We won’t know who the Fox is until he is sent packing or wins the show. Based on his considerable talent, he could well be the season 2 champion.
The Fox is the consummate showman and has dropped plenty of clues to the four judges (Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke) as to his true identity. We’ve combed through all his appearances as well as his clues videos and think we know who is hiding inside the Fox costume. Keep reading for the second of this week’s “The Masked Singer” spoilers.
We are so sure that the Fox is Wayne Brady. Don’t believe us? Then consider the following:
As a group, the 16 celebrities on “The Masked Singer” can boast of 19 Emmy wins from 69 nominations. Brady has won five of his 17 Emmy bids.
Among them, “The Masked Singer” contestants have starred on Broadway 22 times. Brady earned raves for his appearances in the musicals “Chicago” and “Kinky Boots.”
The Fox describes himself as “quick-witted.” Brady is certainly just that as the host of the game show “Let’s Make a Deal” and in his appearances on the improv show “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”
The Fox says he has acted with both Doogie and Doubtfire. The former must mean the lead on the TV show “Doogie Howser, M.D.” who was played by Neil Patrick Harris; Brady appeared as his brother on ” How I Met Your Mother.” The latter just has to be the movie “Mrs. Doubtfire,” in which Robin Williams played the title role; he guested on “Whose Line” alongside Brady.
Finally, the Fox refers to himself as a “super-hero.” Brady gave voice to the character Micron in the animated TV series “Batman Beyond.”
We’ll only find out if we are right when the Fox is unmasked. That will happen when he leaves the competition or wins season 2 of “The Masked Singer.” Who do you think is hiding inside the Fox costume? Sound off in the comments section below.
