“The Masked Singer” hit the halfway mark of season 2 on November 13. Episode seven saw five of the remaining nine contestants compete. These celebrities were clad from head to toe and disguised as the Flower, Fox, Ladybug, Rottweiler and Tree. At the end of the episode, the four judges (Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, Robin Thicke) sent one of them home.
Of these stars, one of the brightest lights is the one hidden inside the Fox costume. He has wowed the crowd with his covers of “This Love” by Maroon 5 in week 3 and “Hey Look Ma, I Made It” by Panic! at the Disco in week 5. We are certain that the Fox is Wayne Brady. So many of the clues fit with this Emmy-winning talent. Don’t agree? Well consider the following:
In his clues video, the Fox says he has worked with Doogie and Doubtfire. The former is a reference to the TV show “Doogie Howser, M.D.,” which starred Neil Patrick Harris; Brady played his brother on the sitcom ” How I Met Your Mother.” The latter is an allusion to the movie “Mrs. Doubtfire,” in which Robin Williams played the title role; he and Brady appeared together on the improv show “Whose Line Is It Anyway?”
The Fox describes himself as “quick-witted”; Brady is certainly that, having shown off this skill on a variety of shows, including his self-titled daytime talker, the game show “Let’s Make a Deal” and “Whose Line.” In addition to those series, Brady has shown off his acting abilities on both TV (“Reno 911,” “Stargate SG-1”) and onstage (“Chicago,” “Kinky Boots”).
The Fox styles himself as a “super-hero”; Brady gave voice to the character Micron in the animated TV series “Batman Beyond.”
We see the Fox reading a bedtime story to a young female fox; Brady has a daughter, Maile.
What do you make of our best guess? We won’t know if we are right till the Fox is unmasked when he leaves the competition or wins season 2 of “The Masked Singer.” Who do you think is hiding inside the Fox costume? Sound off in the comments section below.
