“The Masked Singer” is a huge hit for FOX because of its format: celebrities, who are covered up from head to toe in elaborate costumes, sing songs. The studio audience and the four judges — Ken Jeong, Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger and Robin Thicke — decide which will move on in the competition and who will go home. Four more stars competed on October 9 in episode three of season 2. They were disguised as an Eagle, Flower, Fox and Penguin. We’ve done some digging and think we know the identity of these four. Keeping reading for “The Masked Singer spoilers,” including the real name of the Fox.
Before taking to the stage, the Fox offered up several clues as to his identity in a video teaser. We think that these hints all add up to the Fox being actor James Marsden. Consider the following:
The X on the nose of the Fox could be a reference to the “X-Men” film franchise, in which Marsden played Cyclops.
The red glowing eye is another reference to the mythical creature cyclops.
The images of gears and clockworks are similar to those seen in the opening credits of “Westworld,” the HBO series in which Marsden has a leading role.
And Marsden was born on September 18, 1973; that makes him 46, which is the number assigned to the studio in the video part of the clues package.
What do you think of our theory? We won’t know if we are right till the Fox is unmasked when he leaves the competition or wins season 2 of “The Masked Singer.” Who do you think is hiding inside the Fox costume? Sound off in the comments section below.
