“The Masked Singer” on FOX is must-see-TV this falls because of its fascinating concept: stars wearing elaborate costumes sing songs in the hope of winning over the judging panel and studio audience in order that they can stay in the competition. On Wednesday’s second episode of season 2, four celebrities sang in pairs and three of them made the cut. The Panda (Laila Ali) was sent packing after she lost her sing-off battle with the Leopard. We’ve been doing some digging and have all of your “The Masked Singer” spoilers, including the identity of the Leopard.
Before the Leopard sang, we were teased with a clues package. He told us that he can “survive anywhere” and has been a “heavy hitter” throughout his career. He readily admitted to being annoyed that the “celebrity aspect” is all people want to talk about now. The judges had thought the Leopard was a woman, because of the high-pitched auto tuning of his voice. They quickly realized their mistake when he started singing “Somebody to Love” by Queen.
Both Jenny McCarthy and Nicole Scherzinger raved about his “awesome” performance. McCarthy believed it was someone “major” under the costume, such as the Oscar winner Jamie Foxx. And Scherzinger noted his “mature” voice. Robin Thicke went through the clues and thought the Leopard was Billy Porter, the Emmy-winning actor from “Pose,” even citing the way he held the microphone. Ken Jeong suggested it was British singing star Robbie Williams.
Given the height of the Leopard and his imperious manner, we think that he is NBA all-star Dennis Rodman. What do you think of our guess? Who do you think is hiding inside the Leopard costume? Sound off in the comments section below.
