‘The Masked Singer’ spoiler: The Lion is …

The semi-final of “The Masked Singer” on February 20 showcased the five celebrities still in the competition. Among the standouts was the Lion who got more roars of approval from both the judges and audience for her singing. After watching her perform, we are even more convinced that we know who is lurking beneath that lion’s head. Spoilers ahead

The Lion is Rumer Willis, who is best known as one of the three daughters of Demi Moore and Bruce Willis. We agree with Nicole Scherzinger, who says the Lion is not a professional singer. Rumer works primarily as an actress. Sure, she has dabbled in singing and even appeared on Broadway in the musical “Chicago” but that is not her main gig.

But we think it could be after watching her slay “Diamond Heart” by Lady Gaga in the quarter-final. She had already wowed with her covers of “A Little Party Never Killed Nobody (All We Got)” by Fergie, “Feeling Good” by Nina Simone and “California Dreamin'” by the Mamas and Papas.

The name of the group that sang that last song was a not-so-secret message about the Lion’s lineage. It reinforced the clue we saw in one video: a newspaper with the headline “Gold found in Hailey.” Rumer’s parents famously bought the ski resort town of Hailey, Idaho.

Add to all that the following facts: Rumer was born on August 16, so she is a Leo (as in lion). Among her 22 tattoos was the face of a lion that filled her upper left arm. And she recently starred on the Fox drama “Empire,” which is centered around the lives of the Lyon family.

We won’t find out for sure if Rumer is the Lion till she is unmasked. That will only happen if she loses a match-up or wins the show. Do you think we are right about the true identity of the Lion? Sound off in the comments section with your best guesses.
