Are you happy that Gwen Stefani has returned to the coaches panel for season 17 of “The Voice”? Where do you rank this Grammy winner against the other three music superstars who are serving as mentors on this edition of the reality competition series: her new beau, country crooner Blake Shelton, “American Idol” alumni Kelly Clarkson, and EGOT champ John Legend. Vote in our poll below and hen sound off in the comments section.
Stefani was a coach on seasons 7, 9 and 12. But three times did not prove to be the charm for this lead singer of the band No Doubt. In her debut season, she didn’t get an artist in the top 4. Season 7 was won by Craig Wayne Boyd, who had been coached by Blake; that marked his fourth of six wins to date. In season 9, Gwen saw her artist Jeffery Austin make it the top 4 (Adam Levine‘s Jordan Smith won). And in season 12, Gwen was once again shut-out of the final 4; Alicia Keys coached Chris Blue to victory
Clarkson, who was an advisor on Season 13, joined as a coach in season 14 and had back-to-back winners with Brynn Cartelli and Chevel Shepherd. She did not have an artist in last season’s final, which was won by Maelyn Jarmon who had been coached by Legend in his first year on the show.

Is one of these your favorite coach of all-time? Or do you prefer one of the other original coaches – Christina Aguilera — who had to wait till season 11 before her first and only (to date) win? Other one-time winning coaches were Usher (season 6) and Pharrell Williams (season 8). And don’t forget these three coaches who may never have had the winning contestant but still made the show must see TV: Cee Lo Green, Jennifer Hudson and Shakira.
