The Cross Battles round is already over for Season 16 of “The Voice.” Which 11 artists will escape elimination on Tuesday night’s final results show of this newly-launched section of the season?
Coaches Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton already know 13 of the singers who will make up next week’s Top 24 live episode (based on voting from April 16). A total of 16 singers faced off last evening, but only 11 can move forward. Eight will be voted through by the public. Blake has one steal remaining. John and Kelly each have one save left. Enjoy reading our full recap of all of the performances from Monday, April 22, which included the following song choices:
LB Crew (“Wade in the Water”) for Team Adam vs. Jej Vinson (“Versace on the Floor”) for Team Kelly
Kalvin Jarvis (“New Rules”) for Team Adam vs. Julian King (“Hello”) for Team John
Carter Lloyd Horne (“Way Down We Go”) for Team Blake vs. Jacob Maxwell (“You’re Still the One”) for Team John
The Bundys (“The Letter”) for Team Kelly vs. Andrew Sevener (“Modern Day Bonnie and Clyde”) for Team Blake

Gyth Rigdon (“Goodbye Time”) for Team Blake vs. Abby Kasch (“Cupid’s Got a Shotgun”) for Team Kelly

And now follow along and refresh our live updating blog below for the Season 16 Cross Battles final results show for Tuesday, April 23:
9:00 p.m. – The results are in and after last night’s epic Cross Battles, we’re about to learn who is moving on to the Top 24. After last week’s Cross Battles, Adam, John and Kelly each have three artists while Blake has four. John and Kelly each have their save remaining while Blake is the last coach with a steal. Let’s get started!
9:05 p.m. – Season 14 champ Brynn Cartelli is back to perform her new single, “Grow Young.” She calls it the most vulnerable song she’s written yet. Sitting at the piano, Brynn belts out the ballad and sounds better than ever. Why doesn’t she have any hits yet? What is it about “The Voice” that they can’t seem to launch a superstar? Brynn is as talented as most artists on the radio, I don’t understand why “Voice” contestants struggle to go mainstream.
9:10 p.m. – The first results of the night have Team Adam’s LB facing off against Team Kelly’s Jej. This one is brutal! Both of these singers are incredibly talented and deserve to stay. But, there can only be one winner! America saved…Jej! Ugh, will Blake save LB? Why were two of the best singers pitted against each other so early? Unfortunately, LB was just eliminated. That was a tough one. I have a feeling Blake is holding on to his steal in hopes of snagging the loser of Beth (Team Legend) vs. Rebecca (Team Kelly). Hopefully LB will have a chance at the Comeback Stage.
9:15 p.m. – Up next is the result of the soulful pairing of Kendra (Team Adam) vs. Jimmy (Team John). Adam can’t conceive of losing another artist tonight, but he just has! Adam is 0-2 tonight and Jimmy moves on for Team Legend after Adam dropped him in the Battles. Kendra formerly worked with Blake, does he want her back? Yes! The final steal is gone. Kendra returns to Team Blake.
9:20 p.m. – Adam gets a break now as we learn the results of Shawn (Team Legend) vs. Karly (Team Blake). Blake has yet to lose an artist in the Cross Battles, will he finally drop his first? Yes. Shawn has won and Karly is the next artist eliminated from the competition.
9:30 p.m. – Who will win the Cross Battle between Team Blake’s Carter and Team John’s Jacob? The two have become best friends throughout the course of the season and now one could potentially send the other home. The winner of this Cross Battle is…Carter! I’m a little surprised by that one. Will John save Jacob? I’m nervous that if he does Beth will go home. But John has used his final save! Jacob is moving on. I hope the best singers remaining still move forward!
9:37 p.m. – Team Legend’s Julian vs. Team Adam’s Kalvin is up next and these two are similar artists with similar levels of talent in my opinion. This should be a close one. The winner of this Cross Battle is…Kalvin! That brings a sigh of relief from Adam who has been getting decimated tonight. Julian has been eliminated.
9:40 p.m. – Now for the results I’ve been most anticipating tonight: Rebecca (Team Kelly) vs. Beth (Team Legend). Both of them deserve to stay, and the only way for that to happen is if Beth wins this and Kelly saves Rebecca. I’ll be so disappointed if Beth goes home right now. The winner of this Cross Battle is…Rebecca. Noooooo! We just lost one of the best singers in the competition in Beth. That’s just absurd. The coaches wasted steals and saves on so many lesser artists way too early. Hope they learned a lesson from that. Bring Beth back to the Comeback Stage! How are her and LB both gone? If I could save one of those two it would be Beth though.
9:50 p.m. – Gyth (Team Blake) vs. Abby (Team Kelly) engaged in a country Cross Battle and we’re about to find out which one is moving on. America has saved…Gyth! Kelly couldn’t resist using her final save on Abby since if The Bundy’s win their Cross Battle, her save would be voided. No more steals and no more saves! The final results are up next.
9:59 p.m. – The final results of the night will reveal the winner of The Bundy’s (Team Kelly) vs. Andrew (Team Blake). The winner of this Cross Battle is…Andrew! The Bundy’s were sent packing. Heading into the Top 24, Blake has eight artists, John and Kelly each have six and Adam has only four remaining.
