‘The Voice’ elimination predictions: Joana Martinez and Shane Q in danger after Top 10 performances

Gold Derby readers have been making their predictions all week long for which two of the Top 10 artists on “The Voice” won’t be making it into the Top 8, and things are not looking good for Joana Martinez and Shane Q. Both of these contestants have already appeared in the bottom and successfully sang for their lives in the instant save, but now their journeys on NBC’s reality TV show may be coming to an end. Joana of Team Gwen Stefani has 1/3 racetrack odds of going home on Tuesday night while Shane of Team Kelly Clarkson has odds of 2/11.

Joana’s performance during Monday’s Top 10 episode was Christina Aguilera‘s “Impossible.” John Legend started off the judges’ comments by praising her for “owning this moment,” while Gwen remained amazed at the youthful age of her 16-year-old artist. “That’s crazy,” Gwen told Joana. “You’re so my dream come true to watch you grow before my eyes. And honestly, she told me that she’s insecure. I was like, what? How is that possible? You seem so confident — you manhandled the stage. I’m very, very impressed with you tonight. Unbelievable.”

Her song book so far on the show has consisted of “Call Out My Name” (blinds), “High Hopes” (battles), “California Dreamin'” (knockouts), “You Can’t Stop the Girl” (playoffs), “Get On Your Feet” (top 13) and “Dreaming of You” (top 11). What is your favorite Joana Martinez song?

Shane took on Billy Ocean‘s “Caribbean Queen (No More Love on the Run)” for his Monday night performance. The coaches were overwhelming in their compliments, with John saying he’s “very good” and “growing every week,” and Kelly praising him for finally “coming out” of his shell. “I love you on stage,” Shane’s coach raved. “I’m glad that you’re finally seeing physically what you can do vocally. That’s what I love for you in this competition. You are so incredibly gifted as a singer, but you have just as much fun when you’re jamming and just doing little random rifts.”

Throughout his time on “The Voice” Shane performed such classics as “Tennessee Whiskey” (blinds), “Too Good at Goodbyes” (battles), “In Case You Didn’t Know” (knockouts), “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” (playoffs), “My Wish” (top 13) and “Mercy” (top 11). Name your favorite Shane Q song below.
