In advance of the Top 8 performing on December 9, we polled viewers of “The Voice” to see who they want to win season 17. Their first choice in our best to worst power rankings is Ricky Duran, who has racked up an impressive 23% of the total tally as of this writing. He is on Team Blake Shelton. A win by him would bring Blake that long-elusive seventh victory on the show.
Close behind with 20% is Katie Kadan, who is being coached by reigning champ John Legend. The other two coaches each have one artist with double digit support. Gwen Stefani, who lost each of her past three seasons as coach, is hoping that she has a winner in Rose Short, who has racked up 14% of the total tally. And Kelly Clarkson, who took the title in each of her first two seasons, is coaching Jake Hoot who sits at 11%
None of the other four artists still in the competition merit double digit support. They are the most likely quartet to have sung their last notes on this week’s shows. Legend’s other two artists — Will Breman and MaryBeth Byrd — are each at 9%. Shelton’s other act, Kat Hammock, is at 8% while Clarkson’s other entry, Hello Sunday, sits at 6%.
