‘The Voice’ Top 24: Which of the 6 artists on Team Kelly Clarkson could win season 16? [POLL]

Kelly Clarkson remains a formidable force in her three season as a coach on NBC’s “The Voice.” The first winner of “American Idol” drew on that experience last spring when she coached Brynn Cartelli to victory on season 14 of “The Voice.” She did the same last fall in season 15 with Chevel Shepherd.

This Grammy winner is back to defend her title and is taking six artists through to the Top 24 round of the competition, which kicks off on April 29. During the just-concluded live cross battle round, she saw her team cut from eight to five. And she added one steal from the other coaches.

VOTE For best artist on each of the other teams: John Legend | Adam Levine | Blake Shelton

Which of the half dozen hopefuls on her team do you think could go all the way and win season 16 of “The Voice”? Take a look at detailed bios of each of them below and then cast your vote in our poll at the bottom of this post. And be sure to sound off in the comments section about Clarkson and her time as a coach on “The Voice.”

Abby Kasch
Age: 20
Hometown: Palos Park, Illinois
Resident: Nashville, Tennessee

Abby started singing at 12 years old. During high school, she continued to hone her skills and eventually formed a band. School wasn’t easy, as she was often bullied for her weight and could never win over her peers, despite her musical success outside of school. Abby’s little sister idolizes her and that support inspired Abby to set a good example and head to Nashville to pursue her dream of becoming a country singer. Abby is ready to show her bullies how far she has come and hopes “The Voice” will prove she is on the right track.

Rebecca Howell
Age: 18
Hometown: Cochran, Georgia
Resident: Cochran, Georgia

Rebecca got involved in singing competitions in the fifth grade, and after placing several times, she became a local standout. Rebecca’s grandmother encouraged her to pursue music and was her biggest supporter. Sadly, she recently passed away, but Rebecca plans to honor her grandmother’s memory by continuing to sing. Rebecca plans to go to college and spends her time singing at her church, where she serves as worship leader. “The Voice” is Rebecca’s chance to share her music beyond her small town.

Matthew Johnson

Matthew found confidence in his voice when he was 15 through singing in church. He joined a Christian a cappella group and travels the country singing at events. He also sings background vocals for a local artist and tours. Outside of singing, Matthew holds a full-time job working for a collections agency. He uses his warm demeanor to call people who are behind on their car payments and help get them caught up. Matthew comes to “The Voice” ready to give up his cubicle and focus on his singing career.

Rod Stokes
Age: 35
Hometown: Moss Point, Missouri
Resident: Grand Bay, Alabama

Rod grew up watching his sister sing in church, but he was too shy to participate. Being a larger kid, he ended up spending most of his time playing football. He continued to play in college, but his football dreams were cut short when he had to drop out to take over the family construction business. Without football in his life, Rod felt inspired to start singing, and his family started their own traveling musical ministry. Rod met his wife on the road, and since being married, he has lost over 100 pounds. Rod is ready to give his music career a real shot on “The Voice” stage.

Presley Tennant

Presley may look like a girly girl, but this tomboy-at-heart grew up playing soccer and loves riding ATVs and dirt bikes. At seven years old, Presley realized that she had a talent for singing. She started singing competitively after just a few years after starting vocal lessons. At 11, Presley joined the girl group 5LP and got to perform for Kelly Rowland and the Jacksons. She was in the group for two years until they broke up, but instead of being discouraged, Presley began to work on her solo act. Outside of school, Presley has been writing music and playing shows.

Jej Vinson
