‘The Voice’ Season 17 spoilers: Kelly Clarkson spills the beans on ‘lovebirds’ Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani — ‘She reels the cowboy in!’

Season 17 of “The Voice” doesn’t debut on NBC until Sept. 23, but coach Kelly Clarkson is already spilling the beans on what fans can expect from the long-running reality show. (Warning: mild spoilers ahead!) On her new daytime talker “The Kelly Clarkson Show,” Clarkson and John Legend chatted about working alongside “lovebirds” Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani for the first time this season. “I like how she reels the cowboy in!” Clarkson declared. “It’s the best season just to watch her be like, ‘Blakey, I want this one,’ and then he like gives it to her.” That’s when Legend chimed in, “He’s a sucker!”

Stefani wasn’t originally supposed to be a coach this season, but she stepped in at the last moment after Adam Levine cut ties with the Emmy-winning competition program. Legend called the No Doubt singer “really great” to work with, saying he has “great chemistry” with her. “I’ve never really spent much time with her,” he later revealed.

As for the show’s aspiring artists, “I love how deep the talent is this year,” Legend proclaimed. Don’t forget, Legend knows a thing or two about talent since he won last season with Maelyn Jarmon. “I feel like last season, which was my first season, I think there were clear favorites that were head and shoulders above the rest. But this year I feel like the depth from the top half of my team to the bottom half is this narrow. It’s like everybody is really good and really close to each other.”

Clarkson whole-heartedly agreed, adding, “It’s no joke. It’s the best season that I’ve been on as a whole, like all the talent. It’s insane this season.” Clarkson currently has two victories under her belt: Brynn Cartelli (Season 14) and Chevel Shepherd (Season 15).

“I’ve won more [than Legend], but it’s fine, no one’s counting,” Clarkson joked while bursting out laughing. Legend then quickly responded, “She’s never beaten me!” With Levine gone, might Clarkson and Legend be the show’s latest rivalry on the coaching panel? We can’t wait to find out.
