And now make your comments below and keep refreshing for our full live updating blog recap for the live results recap on Tuesday, December 3:
8:05 p.m. — Host Carson Daly wastes no time calling the Top 10 to the stage to announce the first results of the night. After a brief Q & A, Team Legend’s Will Breman and Team Gwen’s Rose Short advance to the semi-finals!
8:20 p.m. — John and Kelly serenade the audience with their new Christmas recording, “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” before the next set of results are announced. Advancing to the Top 8 is Team Blake’s Ricky Duran!
8:30 p.m. — Meghan Trainor and Mike Sabath stopped by “The Voice” stage to perform their latest single “Wave” before Carson continued on with the evening’s results. The next two artists advancing to next week are Team Legend’s Katie Kadan and Team Kelly’s Jake Hoot!
8:40 p.m. — Two more artists will advance to the semi-finals leaving three acts to battle it out for the instant save. Sailing through to the Top 8 are Team Kelly’s Hello Sunday and Team Blake’s Kat Hammock! That means Team Kelly’s Shane Q, Team Gwen’s Joana Martinez and Team Legend’s Marybeth Byrd will compete for the instant save.
8:45 p.m. — Singing first for the instant save is Team Kelly’s Shane Q with “Killing Me Softly.” Shane has become a fixture in this position and each week it seems more unlikely he will advance. He sounds okay tonight, but I’m not blown away by this vocal and it seems a bit rushed.
8:50 p.m. — Up next is Team Gwen’s Joana singing “Somebody That I Used to Know.” The first verse is completely off key so this probably won’t go well for her. It’s actually a little painful to watch. This was a terrible song choice for Joana and it will probably send her home.
8:52 p.m. — Last up is Marybeth from Team Legend singing “You are the Reason.” Marybeth looks poised and sounds great on this emotional ballad. Everything about this performance far exceeds the two we witnessed before this. Without question Marybeth deserves to win this instant save. But will America get it right?
8:59 p.m. — The votes are in and one more artist is about to advance to the semi-finals. That artist is Team Legend’s Marybeth Byrd! Team Gwen’s Joana Martinez and Team Kelly’s Shane Q have been eliminated. That’s a wrap for tonight!
