“The Voice” Top 13 take to the stage on Monday May 6 to sing for America’s votes. We asked viewers of “The Voice” to weigh in with their predictions as to which five of these artists will number among the eliminations at the end of the evening. The results are clear with four contestants — Oliv Blu, Andrew Sevener, Shawn Sounds and Rod Stokes — each registering just 1% of the total tally as of this writing. A fifth contender for the season 16 title, Kim Cherry, eked out a mere 2%.
The theme for the Top 13 is “Fan Night,” with each of the baker’s dozen of artists performing a song selected by the viewers. The lucky seven singers who rack up the most votes are guaranteed to move on in the competition. Conversely, the three with the fewest votes are instantly eliminated. And the three in the middle will sing again with viewers voting via Twitter in the Instant Save for the one artist that will go through to the Top 8.
Oliv, Kim and Andrew are on Team Blake Shelton. If they are all eliminated as we predict, that will see Shelton’s roster cut in half to just three artists (Carter Lloyd Horne, Gyth Rigdon, Dexter Roberts) in the Top 8. Blake has won six of the first 15 seasons of the show.
Rookie coach John Legend brings three artists into the Top 13. Should Shawn leave as we expect, this EGOT champ would bring Celia Babini and Maelyn Jarmon to the Top 8.
Kelly Clarkson won her first two seasons as a coach on “The Voice” but only counts two artists among the Top 13. One of these is Rod; should he be ousted on Monday, she will be left with just Jej Vinson.
As with Kelly, Adam Levine has only two artists still on his team. The good news for this three-time champ is that we are predicting that both of them (LB Crew, Mari) will make it through to the next round.
