Season 16 of “The Voice” is now ready to present its Top 24 artists remaining for the competition. Tonight’s two hour overstuffed episode will bring you performances by all 24 singers for coaches Kelly Clarkson, John Legend, Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.
Here’s how this week should work. Viewers will vote following tonight’s episodes for their favorites. Then on Tuesday night, eight artists regardless of team affiliation will advance straight into the Top 12 based on the audience vote. After that, each coach will get to save one of their own, rounding out the Top 12 and ensuring that each coach has at least one artist advancing. Also on Tuesday, the winner of “The Comeback Stage,” Kanard Thomas will perform live in a head to head against one of the yet-to-be-determined artists that was eliminated during the Cross Battles. One of the two will earn the live Twitter Save based on that performance and be named the 13th artist to remain in the competition.
This is a full list of contenders singing on the Top 24 episode Monday night:
Team Blake (8):
Oliv Blu, Kendra Checketts, Kim Cherry, Carter Lloyd Horne, Gyth Rigdon, Dexter Roberts, Selkii, Andrew Sevener
Team John (6):

And now follow along and refresh our live updating blog below with a full recap for the Season 16 Top 24 performances show on Monday, April 29:
8:00 p.m. – We’ve got two dozen performances to get through in just two hours tonight and half of these artists will be sent packing tomorrow night. Let’s dive right in!
8:07 p.m. – Team Kelly is up first beginning with Rod Stokes singing “Midnight Rider.” Rod’s got a powerful voice, but he sort of puts the pedal to the medal from start to finish. I’d like to seem him build up a song more. There’s certainly music fans that will appreciate his style, but if it were up to me I’d let him go home at this point.
8:10 p.m. – Next from Team Kelly is Matthew Johnson with his former coach’s song “Ordinary People.” I love the way Matthew phrases his lyrics and the joy radiates from him when he’s singing. He was spot on tonight and deserves to be in the Top 13.
8:15 p.m. – Team Kelly’s Rebecca Howell is up next singing “Wild One.” Kelly has called Rebecca her “dark horse” and I agree with her. As the numbers begin to dwindle Rebecca’s stock will continue to rise. Her biggest task will be getting through the brutal cut this week. She’s not as memorable as some other contestants, but if she can continue to give solid performances like this, more people will take notice.
8:17 p.m. – 16-year old Presley Tennant is next singing “Nothing Breaks Like the Heart.” Presley is utilizing every part of her range to convey the emotion of this song and it’s paying off. This was a wise song choice by Presley and she’s nailing this contemporary Miley Cyrus hit. I’d love to see her continue on.
8:20 p.m. – We’re heading right into country singer “Abby Kasch” singing “I Got the Boy.” We’ve seen Abby perform like a badass on stage before and tonight she’s lightening it up with a ballad. It’s a great song choice but her voice isn’t as strong as her teammates. Her time on “The Voice” will likely soon be over.
8:25 p.m. – Closing things down for Team Kelly is her R&B sensation Jej Vinson singing “Love Lies.” Jej has great musicality and one of the best voices in the competition. I like that he sings contemporary hits and we have a good idea what sort of artist he wants to be. Tonight is another good performance and it’s the type of music I love hearing him sing, but I’m not sure if the masses will love it. That said, he’s got nothing to worry about at this juncture, he should sail into the Top 13.
8:28 p.m. – That’s a wrap for Team Kelly! Am I the only one loving this episode with no commentary from the coaches? I’d pick Jej, Matthew and Presley to advance into the Top 12 from Team Kelly.
8:35 p.m. – The six artists from Team Legend are up next, beginning with Lisa Ramey with “The Weight.” Lisa is one of my favorite performers this season, she just lays it ALL out there. I barely recognized her tonight with this hairstyle, she softened up her old mo-hawk with this ponytail, but thankfully she didn’t soften her style. She’s still bumping and grinding all around the stage while she belts out this classic. I hope she moves forward.
8:36 p.m. – Alternative artist Jacob Maxwell is up next singing the rock classic “Total Eclipse of the Heart.” Jacob is rocking a man-bun at half mast like a pro as he serenades his fans with his swoon-worthy understated performance. It wasn’t a great vocal, but I guess it was okay. Maybe he will advance?
8:43 p.m. – Jimmy Mowery is up next is up next with the hit “Young Blood.” There’s something about Jimmy that feels a little karaoke to me, even though his voice is good. I feel like he needs to be fronting a band, there’s something awkward about him as a solo artist. I’m not sure he’ll move forward after this.
8:45 p.m. – Celia Babini is next to perform and she’s singing “The Chain.” Celia has an intense stage presence, that’s impressive, but I’m not a big fan of her voice. The way some of these indie-rock singers enunciate drives me crazy. The coaches all seem to love her so perhaps I’m in the minority; she’s just not my thing. I did like how she just jumped into the crowd and rocked it though!
8:53 p.m. – We continue on with Maelyn Jarmon singing “Falling Water.” Maelyn is one of those artists that just seems like she’s on another level when she performs. She knows exactly who she is and her voice is perfection! She may be my favorite artist this season (at least so far). This wasn’t my favorite performance of hers, but it was still good and Maelyn will easily sail into the Top 13.
8:55 p.m. – We’re closing out Team Legend with Shawn Sounds singing the Stevie Wonder classic, “Higher Ground.” I always worry about artists who sing Stevie because it can come off as karaoke and usually pales in comparison to the original, but Shawn is holding his own here. Shawn is definitely one of the most talented vocalists this season so I hope he moves on.
8:58 p.m. – That’s it for Team Legend! My rank tonight is: Maelyn, Lisa, Shawn, Jacob, Celia and Jimmy.
9:05 p.m. – To begin the second half of tonight’s episode, Team Adam is taking the stage starting with Kalvin Jarvis singing “Mine.” Kalvin went under the radar for me during the early rounds, but he’s really growing on me! He’s got a cool vibe and I love that he shows off his lower register as much as his belting range. I enjoyed that!
9:07 p.m. – Betsy Ade is up next singing “Are You Gonna Be My Girl?” Betsy’s rockin’ the guitar tonight and I love her rough, gritty attitude. She’s working the stage like a pro, but unfortunately her spectacular voice isn’t getting the attention it deserves with this song. I’m not sure she will get voted through with this performance.
9:15 p.m. – Mari is next to take the stage and she’s taking on the very funky, “Work it Out.” I love that she chose this song since it’s not typically done in these competitions. This is exactly the type of album I could see her making with her soft, yet rangy voice. She gets a little off track with some of the riffs, but overall it was about as good as I’ve seen Mari to date.
9:17 p.m. – We close things out for Team Adam with Domenic Haynes singing “Love is a Losing Game.” Domenic has one of the most recognizable tones in the competition and he’s a unique performer as well. I love that about him. He gets a little intense with the facial expressions sometimes, but I love how into the music he gets. He’s almost like a male version of Macy Gray. I want more! I hope he sticks around.
9:20 p.m. – That’s a wrap for Team Adam! I’d rank them: Domenic, Kalvin, Betsy and Mari.
9:28 p.m. – Team Blake is the largest with eight artists and they’ll close out the show beginning with Andrew Sevener singing “Boots On.” Andrew is one of the best singers in the competition and was majorly slept on by the other coaches so props to Blake for this. Andrew is working the stage like a pro and having a lot of fun with this song, which is rockin’ the crowd. America loves these bluesy country singers as proven in the past, but Andrew’s got some stiff competition within his own team. We’ll see if he can sneak into the Top 13 – I think he’s got a real good shot.
9:31 p.m. – Up next singing “Iris” is Selkii. I know that Blake says she is one of his favorite artists he’s ever worked with, but she couldn’t sing an entire song in key to save her life. She can’t even get through one line of this song without hitting a bad note. She needs to go.
9:38 p.m. – Singing “Girl From Ipanema” is Oliv Blu. I LOVE that she chose this song and there’s someone with her jazzy intonations on this season. Yaaassss! She’s a little off on some of these notes, but I like her style so much I can look past a few notes with her because I’m having fun watching the performance. I’m not sure she’ll get voted through, but she’s getting a vote from me!
9:41 p.m. – Next is Blake’s front-runner to this point, Gyth Rigdon singing “I Wanna Be Loved Like That.” Gyth has country superstar written all over him. He looks good, sounds great and knows how to tell a story. Tonight was another solid performance from the country singer who won’t only sail into the Top 13, but probably the finale.
9:48 p.m. – We keep things going with Kendra Checketts singing “Bad Guy.” Kendra is showing a darker side to her personality tonight and I’m digging it! Kendra is one artist who has continued to grow with each round of the competition and I’d like to see how she continues to progress. Not only is she owning the stage, but she threw in a few runs I didn’t know she was capable of. Nice one Kendra! The diva came out!
9:52 p.m. – Up next is Carter Lloyd Horne singing “Heartbreak Hotel.” I sort of cringed when I heard what he’d be singing, but it sort of works for him! He’s got a nice voice and he’s coming along as a performer. I still think he could have chosen a better song but I won’t be surprised to see him get voted into the Top 13. The kid’s got charisma. Personally, I’m bored.
9:56 p.m. – It’s no surprise to see Kim Cherry taking on a TLC song in “Waterfalls” since we’re certain to get a little rap worked in here somewhere. She begins at the piano and sounds good – she’s got a solid voice! But come on, we’re all waiting for this rap and she finally launches into it. Something feels a little cheesy to me every time she does this, but it also entertains me. Kim definitely seems like one of the most fun contestants, but I’m not in love with her voice.
9:59 p.m. – Let’s close out the night with the 24th performance! Wowza! Dexter Roberts is singing “Ain’t Nothing ‘Bout You.” Dexter is looking sharp tonight and he’s definitely got a great voice. You can tell he’s been doing this for a while and he’s a pro. I’m not sure how I feel about this song choice, but I have a feeling he’ll get voted into the Top 13 regardless of how I feel about this performance. It was solid though!
10:00 p.m. – I’m sure I won’t match up perfectly with the 12 singers tonight who advance tomorrow, but here’s who has my vote tonight: Team Kelly – Jej, Matthew and Presley. Team Legend – Lisa, Maelyn and Shawn. Team Adam – Domenic and Kalvin. Team Blake – Andrew, Gyth, Kendra and Oliv. Who do you hope makes the Top 13?
