Tony Shalhoub (‘The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel’) 2019 Emmy Awards episode revealed for Best Comedy Supporting Actor (Exclusive)

Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Tony Shalhoub is entering “The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel” episode “We’re Going to the Catskills” as his 2019 Emmy Awards submission for Best Comedy Supporting Actor. This program streamed December 5 and was the fourth episode of the second season for the Amazon Prime show.

In this installment, Abe (Shalhoub) and Rose (Marin Hinkle) are on a two-month vacation at a resort in the Catskill Mountains. Joel accidentally discovers Abe in his secret morning exercise routine. Midge (Rachel Brosnahan) is trying to book comedy gigs while there.

It’s the second straight nomination for Shalhoub in this role. He has three prior wins for “Monk” in 2003, 2005 and 2006 among eight bids for that program. For this year’s contest, he is competing against 2018 champ Henry Winkler, previous winner Tony Hale (“Veep”), past nominee Alan Arkin (“The Kominsky Method”) and first-time contenders Anthony Carrigan (“Barry”) and Stephen Root (“Barry”).
