If you ever had a daydream where “Top Chef” host Padma Lakshmi was dressed as a flapper, your wish is about to come true on this week’s episode, “Roaring Munchies,” which airs on Thursday at 8 p.m. ET/PT on Bravo. As for those who have fantasized judge Tom Colicchio going full Capone, you will be happy, too. Watch the video below.
A bit of Prohibition fun will certainly help lift spirits after last week’s stressful conclusion of Restaurant Wars, a three-way showdown that leaked onto a rare two-part version of the web-only after-show “Last Chance Kitchen.” Two Season 16 contestants, Pablo Lamon and Natalie Maronski, were cut in the first half.
All will be revealed early on this week’s “Top Chef” as we learn whether Season 15’s Brother Luck or current player Nina Nguyen, assisted by a team of five chefs, will be returning to the competition as they finish their three-course head-to-head mini battle. Note: Let’s see if anything will be made out of the fact that Brother did not come up with an original signature dish, instead relying on jalapeno poppers fried in tempura that is based on the signature dish served at his restaurant.
The main event, however, requires the 10 remaining players as well as the victor of “Last Chance Kitchen” to come up with snacks based on 1920’s cocktails. Padma, Tom and Graham Elliott will be joined by Boston-based chef Ken Oringer .
