Voices of Service (‘America’s Got Talent’) delivers gut-wrenching rendition of ‘Choke’ in Semifinals [WATCH]

Grab the tissues! Voices of Service, the last singing group still in contention to win “America’s Got Talent,” returned in the Semifinals 2 performance show to deliver their stripped-down version of OneRepublic‘s “Choke.” As expected, the “AGT” judges were on their feet and full of emotion following the motivational act, which is made up of three military service men and one woman. Does Voices of Service have what it takes to become the first vocal group to win “AGT”? Watch the live video above, read the judges’ comments below and then make your predictions before Wednesday’s results show.

Simon Cowell: “Wow, what a way to end. You know, I’ve said many, many times on this show or any show that we are nothing without the contestants. Your film reminded us of what you’ve done throughout your lives, which is outstanding. And then on the night that matters, you did the most outstanding vocal we’ve heard from you from the entire series. I know how much this means to you to get into the final and you know what? After that, you deserve to be there. You have my sincere respect. Really amazing.”

Julianne Hough: “The dynamics of your vocals. I mean, you went from this intimate place to then this eruption of beauty and grace altogether. But the best part about it is that you put your purpose behind your passion, and that’s undeniable.”

Queen Latifah: “You know, I’m blown away, I’m stunned, I’m shocked, because it’s so beautiful. Your voices meld together as one so perfectly. I think about my mom telling me when she would have to wake my father up out of his nightmares from Vietnam. What you’re doing does have a purpose. It will continue to have a purpose. I hope to see you in the Finals, but regardless, keep doing what you’re doing because you are saving and changing lives.”

In his “AGT” live blog, our recapper John Benutty had this to say about the performance: “Voices of Service, the quartet of military veterans, closed out the show with another uplifting and hopeful performance accompanied by a piano. Tonight their harmonizing was otherworldly and featured two amazing solos that brought the house down. Simon called it the ‘most outstanding’ vocal they’ve given throughout the series and said they deserve to make the finale.”
