Wade Cota on ‘American Idol’: ‘Through the Valley’ is his best song on season 17 so far

Wade Cota has gotten to the top 5 on the ABC revival of “American Idol” based on his nine performances to date beginning with his rendition of “Work Song” by Hozier back on March 31. That cover did well when we asked viewers to pick his best song, earning a solid 16%. However, leading the way with 28% was Wade’s rendition on the Top 6 show of the Shawn James hit “Through the Valley.” And “Idol” fans liked his other song that night too as “With A Little Help From My Friends” by The Beatles merited 17% of the total tally.

At the other end of the scale are some of Wade’s more recent efforts with his Top 8 cover of the Queen classic “We Are the Champions” registering just 2%. Also figuring in the bottom three are his Top 10 performance of “You’ve Got a Friend in Me” from “Toy Story” and his Top 20 duet with Lovely The Band on their hit “Broken”
