All around the country “Survivor” fans are asking Siri and/or Alexa to set a reminder for Wednesday, February 20, as that’s the confirmed date of the Season 38 premiere. CBS has revealed that “Survivor: Edge of Extinction” will debut at 8/7c that night and will air for one hour, as opposed to 90 minutes or two hours as we’ve seen in some recent cycles. At Gold Derby you can already make your predictions for who you think will win “Survivor,” who’ll be voted out first and so much more — get started now.
While much of the cast is made up of brand new players, there’s a twist this season that’s sure to shake up the game as four returning castaways are back: David Wright and Kelley Wentworth are joining the blue Manu tribe while Joe Anglim and Aubry Bracco are members of the yellow Kama tribe. Watch the preview trailer for “Survivor: Edge of Extinction.”
The seven new people on the Manu tribe are: law student Dan “The Wardog” DaSilva (38), sales rep Reem Daly (46), morning news anchor Rick Devens (33), small business owner Wendy Diaz (25), college student Lauren O’Connell (21), pre-med student Keith Sowell (19) and district sales manager Chris Underwood (25).
And the seven fresh faces on the Kama tribe are: waitress Victoria Baamonde (23), teacher Ron Clark (46), medical assistant Julia Carter (24), firefighter Eric Hafemann (34), divorce lawyer Aurora McCreary (32), toymaker Julie Rosenberg (46) and YMCA director Gavin Whitson (23).
Here’s how long-time host Jeff Probst describes “Survivor: Edge of Extinction”: “For our 38th season a new group of players will take on the greatest social experiment ever created. They’ll be joined by four returning players. And a new layer to the game will push them further than ever before. It’s ‘Survivor: Edge of Extinction,’ premiering next spring.”
