Angelina Jolie and several of her six children she shares with ex-hubby Brad Pitt attended the recent live reunion show that capped off the CBS show’s 37th season, “David vs. Goliath,” in Los Angeles on Dec. 19. Her presence at the event was originally reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
A source told People magazine, “They had a great time. The kids really enjoyed it.”
Turns out she has ties to one of the players who made the final three, writer, producer and actor Mike White (“School of Rock”). He was part of the Goliath tribe and previously appeared on another reality contest, “The Amazing Race.” White came in second on “Survivor” while David member Nick Wilson, a public defender from Kentucky, was voted the winner.
People magazine reported that Jolie invited White and a small group of friends for an informal gathering at her home after the reunion show was taped.
The two are work-related buddies. Jolie is producing and also voices the female lead in Disney’s animated-live-action hybrid comedy “The One and Only Ivan.” White wrote the script, which he adapted from a best-selling, Newbery Medal-winning 2012 novel by K.A. Applegate. The plot: A silverback gorilla name Ivan (Sam Rockwell) wants to learn about his past with help from an aging elephant named Stella (Jolie) as they plot to escape from a shopping mall circus.
The voice cast also includes Bryan Cranston as a circus owner while Danny DeVito and Helen Mirren have speaking roles. Thea Sharrock, who previously did the book-based “Me Before You” starring Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin, directs. The book has been compared to such childhood classics as “Charlotte’s Web” and “Stuart Little.”
Just a wild guess here, but there are probably more characters who are Davids than Goliaths.
