Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Jeremy Strong is entering the “Succession” episode “This Is Not for Tears” as his 2020 Emmy Awards submission for Best Drama Actor. This program aired October 13 and was the 10th and final episode of the second season for the HBO show.
In this installment, the family spends holiday time on their yacht in the Mediterranean following Senate testimony. Logan asks his son Kendall (Strong) to convince Naomi to leave and she informs him that his father favors him only as a broken man. Logan approaches his son about taking the fall for the family. Later Kendall betrays him at a New York press conference.
Strong just received his first career Emmy nomination. For this 2020 contest, he is competing against co-star Brian Cox, reigning champ Billy Porter (“Pose”), past winners Jason Bateman (“Ozark”) and Sterling K. Brown (“This Is Us”) and previous nominee Steve Carell (“The Morning Show”).
