Vote for Louis Knight (‘American Idol’) after ‘In My Place’ performance on May 3 episode [WATCH]

During the Sunday, May 3 episode of “American Idol,” host Ryan Seacrest announced that Louis Knight was one of the Top 11 contestants who were still in the running to join the reality TV show’s iconic winners list. The trio of judges loved what they heard from the British-born heartthrob. Katy thought it was “commendable” of Louis to “lean into those roots,” adding, “whatever happens, you’re a star, obviously.” While Luke wasn’t “completely blown away,” he still reiterated that Louis has a “wonderful star quality.” Lionel raved about his “great job” the spotlight and instructed him to “play to that camera as much as you can”

In his “American Idol” live blog, our recapper Denton Davidson had this to say about Louis’ performance: “The first person to make it through to next week is Louis Knight! Tonight he’ll be singing ‘In My Place’ by Coldplay. He’s playing for an audience of four at the piano on his front porch. It’s an okay song choice and Louis sounds good, but he’s not exactly blowing me away. Katy thought it helped her escape to a better time, Luke wasn’t blown away, but Lionel thinks Louis was great. Louis is the teen heartthrob this season so I doubt he’s going anywhere anytime soon.”

Louis previously sang “Change” as his audition song, “Castle on the Hill” in the Hawaii showcase round and “If the World Was Ending” in the Top 20. What is your favorite performance of Louis’ so far on “American Idol” Season 18? Sound off down in the comments section.
