Chris Sullivan (‘This Is Us’): Emmys 2021 episode submission revealed

Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Chris Sullivan is entering the “This Is Us” episode “In the Room” as his 2021 Emmy Awards submission for Best Drama Supporting Actor. This program aired February 16 and was the eighth episode of the fifth season for the NBC show.

In this installment, Toby (Sullivan) is bonding with an older man whose wife is in the hospital with COVID-19. After the couple gets good news, Toby decides that his baby daughter’s middle name should be Rose, the same as the wife.

This year marks his second career Emmy nomination with no previous wins. For this 2021 contest, he is competing against “The Handmaid’s Tale” stars O-T Fagbenle, Max Minghella and Bradley Whitford, Giancarlo Esposito (“The Mandalorian”), John Lithgow (“Perry Mason”), Tobias Menzies (“The Crown”) and Michael K. Williams (“Lovecraft Country”).
