Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Emerald Fennell is entering “The Crown” episode “Fairytale” as her 2021 Emmy Awards submission for Best Drama Supporting Actress. This program streamed November 15 and was the third episode of the fourth season for the Netflix show.
In this installment, Diana (Emma Corrin) realizes she doesn’t know her fiance Prince Charles (Josh O’Connor) at all after having lunch with Camilla Parker Bowles (Fennell). After returning from a trip, Charles visits Camilla to break off his romance. Several family members believe he is still in love with her and not Diana.
This year marks her third career Emmy nomination with no wins so far. For this 2021 contest, she is competing against co-stars Gillian Anderson and Helena Bonham Carter, “The Handmaid’s Tale” stars Madeline Brewer, Ann Dowd, Yvonne Strahovski and Samira Wiley, plus Aunjanue Ellis from “Lovecraft Country.”
