Gold Derby can exclusively reveal that Madeline Brewer is entering “The Handmaid’s Tale” episode “Testimony” as her 2021 Emmy Awards submission for Best Drama Supporting Actress. This program streamed June 2 and was the eighth episode of the fourth season for the Hulu show.
In this installment, the young Janine (Brewer) has been caught and is now being placed in the care of Aunt Lydia (Ann Dowd). She begs her to not make her a handmaid yet again.
This year marks her first career Emmy nomination. For this 2021 contest, she is competing against co-stars Ann Dowd, Yvonne Strahovski and Samira Wiley, “The Crown” co-stars Gillian Anderson, Helena Bonham Carter and Emerald Fennell, plus Aunjanue Ellis from “Lovecraft Country.”
