Taylor Swift sweeps 2021 Gold Derby Music Awards winners list, but Blackpink, The Weeknd and Lady Gaga also prevail

Taylor Swift was the big winner at the 1st Annual Gold Derby Music Awards. For years our users have voted for their favorite achievements in film and TV. This year more than 10,000 got to cast their votes for the best in the recording industry for the first time. Scroll down for the complete list of GDMA winners, and watch our winners announcement above.

Swift achieved a clean sweep of her general field categories. She was named Artist of the Year, while “Folklore” won Album of the Year and “Cardigan” was named Record of the Year and Song of the Year. She also won the award for Best Pop Artist, bringing her total to five wins out of six nominations. The only category she lost was Best Music Video, which went to Lady Gaga and Ariana Grande for “Rain on Me,” which was directed by Robert Rodriguez.

Rounding out the general field winners were the K-pop group Blackpink, who won Best New Artist despite not even being nominated at the Grammys. That makes them this year’s sole K-pop winners as BTS were bested by Swift in the Artist of the Year contest.

In genre artist categories, Fiona Apple claimed Best Rock/Alternative Artist in a close race with Rina Sawayama. Meanwhile, Carrie Underwood edged out the legendary Bob Dylan for Best Country/Americana Artist. Cardi B was the Best Rap/Hip-Hop Artist. And, perhaps surprisingly, Anitta overtook Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Maluma and Ricky Martin to claim Best Latin Artist. With his victory for Best R&B Artist, The Weeknd is actually the only male artist to win across our 12 categories.
