We should be getting news on who submitted want early this year.
According to Maurice Benard interview he submitted 4/24/14December 25, 2014 at 4:21 pm #427572
^^. Those are the Sonny & Ava in the Q crypt scenes. Where they discuss their guilt and end up having sex. Good submission choice by Mo.December 26, 2014 at 6:12 am #427573
If Maurice Benard get nominated I will vomit! If there were a Razzies for Daytime he would win it every single year – fumbling his lines, stepping on other actors’ lines, blech!
I hope we get a full list of actors who have submitted this year and not just the prenominees list.December 26, 2014 at 8:17 pm #427574
For a long time I felt the exact same way, but more recently I feel it to a lesser degree. IMO, when Vanessa Marcil returned in 2010, Maurice really raised his game, and I was pleasantly surprised that he kept it up pretty well (relative to the 5-7 years pre-2010) after she left. I think the lines thing you pointed out is annoying as well, but to me it makes sense that Sonny babbles and interrupts people. Now that may not be a deliberate choice on Maurice’s part (I’m willing to give him the beneift of the doubt that it at least started that way), but I can accept it regardless. My issue with Sonny is that every regime tries to force the audience to love him. And I blame TPTB for that because the way Maurice describes Sonny in interviews, I think he understands that the audience doesn’t have to love a character every single second in order for that character (and actor) to have longevity on a show. As for seeing MB on the ballot this year, I think he made a good submission choice, but at this point I think I’m indifferent to whether he is nominated or not.

Alicia Leigh Willis has been submitted in the guest star category for DAYS:January 9, 2015 at 12:56 pm #427576
Eric Martsolf revealed in a radio interview with Michael Fairman from a while ago that he submitted the 11/3/14 episode where he confronts Kristen about Daniel.January 19, 2015 at 7:28 pm #427577
Billy Miller submitted for Lead Actor for Y&R, he also notes that he thinks Y&R submitted the same episode he did for series. I didn’t see an actual date though.January 21, 2015 at 6:06 pm #427578
Katherine Kelly Lang submitted the 3/19 episode where Brooke is drunk and talking to Stephanie’s picture, and she also submitted the episode before since B&B actors can submit 2 episodes. Great choice for her!January 21, 2015 at 9:13 pm #427579
^^ That is great news! And with that she should be a serious contender for a nomination. In fact, I’ll be pretty disappointed if she is overlooked.January 21, 2015 at 9:18 pm #427580
Oh I should also add how awesome it was of her to give MTS a shout out in that interview. KKL can be such a class act.

Kelly Monaco submitted lead and submitted the episode where Sam founds out Patrick knew Jason was alive at Crichton Clark, this was either November or December material.
Again, it was a Michael Fairman interview:January 22, 2015 at 2:58 pm #427582
^^ This is a good choice given her options, but I don’t expect her to be a strong competitor this year, nor does she deserve to be IMO. Good on Michael Fairman for getting the scoop from everyone.January 22, 2015 at 3:19 pm #427583
I personally don’t see either Lang or Monaco getting nominated this year. Their submissions are fine, just not Emmy-worthy.
Any news yet on Ali??January 22, 2015 at 3:57 pm #427584
I remember the Kelly Monaco episode, and it didn’t leave much of an impression on me. But I don’t think I saw a better option for her, so it’s a good choice.January 27, 2015 at 9:34 am #427585
James Scott tweeted that he didn’t submit.
I cited that performance for Kelly Monaco. I personally thought she was better in the Sam/Silas breakup scenes and should have submitted those instead. I think those scenes would have worked better as a standalone and might have given her an outside chance at a surprise nom.
