wow CBS is this desperate for content with everything shut down they came crawling back to the Daytime Emmys! Huzzah!
ReplyCopy URLMay 20, 2020 at 1:01 pm #1203492179Will it be a virtual Emmys? June 26th seems early to do it any other way?
ReplyCopy URLMay 20, 2020 at 1:07 pm #1203492192Yes, the announcement The Talk did said nominees would be appearing from their homes.
ReplyCopy URLMay 20, 2020 at 2:53 pm #1203492335With nothing to air, the Daytime Emmys got lucky CBS needed some original programming for the summer. CBS also needs a way to promote Y&R and Bold while they’re in reruns for the foreseeable future.

I’m not up for it because I didn’t put myself in

May 20, 2020 at 3:48 pm #1203492400Imagine if NBC had gotten them and aired a thousand DAYS commercials and bits during the ceremony.
Good for CBS airing the awards, even if out of desperation. I hope NATAS strong-armed them into a multi-year deal, though I doubt they did. I’m excited to finally get nominations!
Also, good for Maurice Benard not submitting this year. As I was saying back when we were talking Goldies categories, Benard was relatively backburnered for a lot of the year and had a well earned win for 2018.
ReplyCopy URLMay 20, 2020 at 9:06 pm #1203492945I don’t know what, but it sounds like Freddie Smith submitted, and possibly some scenes between him and Billy Flynn, but not sure what that would be.
ReplyCopy URLMay 21, 2020 at 9:22 am #1203493525That could have been scenes shortly after the time jump. Sonny went over to the DiMera mansion to talk about Will being in prison and so on.
ReplyCopy URLMay 21, 2020 at 9:27 am #1203493529I am really hoping they give it a break as far as Peter Bergman is concerned; he didn’t do enough in 2019 to merit a nomination. He seems to be an automatic nominee most years.
I wish they would let us know who submits and who doesn’t – when inevitably many of my favorites don’t make it I will try to believe they simply didn’t submit this year!
They usually make us wait 20 minutes for the nominations on The Talk but perhaps they will start right off with them??? Looking forward to finally finding out who they have chosen!
ReplyCopy URLMay 21, 2020 at 11:24 am #1203493705And making the younger acting categories combined sex is an absolute failure. No Lipton or Stitt? Are you joking???
ReplyCopy URLMay 21, 2020 at 11:26 am #1203493708I’m stunned there were no men nominated for Younger Actor.
ReplyCopy URLMay 21, 2020 at 11:29 am #1203493719Combining the Younger categories was an absolute fail!
ReplyCopy URLMay 21, 2020 at 11:31 am #1203493723I’m wondering why Bryton James didn’t submit himself for Lead? Annika Noelle was Lead, why did she submit for Supporting?
I would have swapped out Chandler Massey for Eric Martsolf and/or Greg Vaughn
ReplyCopy URLMay 21, 2020 at 11:34 am #1203493731Some truly awful nominees! Why on earth is Thao Penghlis in the Best Actor category for his guest performance? Ugh! So awful! No Roger Howarth? And they nominated the borg, Steve Burton? Huh? Truly awful! But at least now I can root for Jon Lindstrom!
Thia Megia for Days? Huh? For what? Truly awful!
Happy for Maura West and Arianne Zucker but no Camila Banus? No Genie Francis? I love Finola but she was supporting!
I assume Suzanne Rogers didn’t submit – but Susan Seaforth Hayes instead? Rebecca Budig and Christel Khalil were guest performers. At least Tamara Braun was recognized!
No males in Younger Actor/Actress – not William Lipton or Garen Stitt, but they had room for Thia Megia and Sasha Calle! Eden McCoy deserves to win and I hope she does. Glad to see Olivia Rose Keegan in there too.
Wally Kurth, Chandler Massey and PAUL TELFER! All for Days! Yes! Mark Grossman is actually a lead but he’s excellent. Hoping Chandler wins, but would be happy for Paul to win too.
Any news on Guest Performer yet?
