Mark your calenders. The Daytime Emmy nominations are coming out next week on May 5 and the show is on June 24th on CBS. I’m pretty excited to see who gets nominated and who put what in their reels.

For me it is impossible to predict the nominations. We never know who has submitted and in which category. Usually about 50% of my dream ballot gets nominated. There are always a few headscratchers and a few category frauds in the mix of nominees. I preferred vastly when we would get a list of the prenominees and I miss them. Beyond Salem being thrown into the mix will be really interesting – personally I see all of the performers as guest performers since they have had 5 or less appearances but that’s just how I feel about it. It’s always interesting with disappointments and exciting nominees on the final list.

<p style=”text-align: left;”>I always except the nominations. I never scratch my head on who put what on their reel because 9 times out 10 I can guess what’s on who’s reel based off their storylines or what storylines they were featured in. There were years when I thought certain actors should have gotten nods but I accept who gets nods. With the prenominations no longer in place everyone just puts their entire reel up for submission.</p>

Thanks for the update. It’ll be interesting to see who gets nods. I just we still had the pre-mom list.

Me too. It was fun guessing who from what show would get a nod.

Have any performers besides Amanda Setton mentioned having definitely submitted their work for consideration this year?

Not that I know of I asked Michelle Stafford on Twitter and she said she didn’t she really should have though. She had some juicy material to put together with confronting Tara and Sally and her breakup with Nick. She actually could have been a frontrunner maybe even the winner.

The one performer who’s name I need to see on the nominee’s list this year is Kirsten Storms. She has only gotten one nomination in the past and her work during the Peter August/kidnapping-giving birth/baby switch storylines was definitely Emmy-worthy work. The only excuse for her not being nominated would be if she didn’t submit her name for recognition. IDK which category, I suspect she would submit in supporting but she could be either category in all honesty. I just hope her name is on the final list of nominees.

So the category I’m most excited to see unfold is Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series. Based on the past, and based on my dreams (LOL), here’s who I think could snag a nomination in the category.

Cynthia Watros as Nina Reeves, General Hospital

Michelle Stafford as Phyllis Summers, The Young and the Restless

Genie Francis as Laura Collins, General Hospital

Deidre Hall as Marlena Evans, Days of Our Lives

Jacqueline MacInnes Wood as Steffy Forrester, The Bold and the Beautiful

^Michelle Stafford did not submit for consideration.

I wonder if we will get the Best Actress category the night before (tonight) again this year?

Based on my dreams! LOL, Casey.

I haven’t seen any specifics from NATAS or the Daytime Emmy awards body about when or how nominations will be announced. It’s very weird. I’m also not seeing anything in the episode information for The Talk to suggest they’ll be announcing the nominations tomorrow, though they usually seem very excited to do it. Maybe something will change after today’s show airs. At this point, I’m just hoping that we actually get nominations tomorrow. I

I wonder if these were the nominees who would win? Personally I’d pick JMW her work last year was excellent
