Voting begins on January 7, 2022 for this year’s Daytime Goldies awards. We are voting to nominate performers in 9 categories. We are expanding voting to our choices for the 5 best in 7 categories; 4 in Younger Actor and Younger Actress.

Please send your ballot with your top 5 in order of preference to FreemanGriffin. Your top choice gets one extra point for 6 points, 4 points for 2nd, 3 points for 3rd, 2 points for 4th, and 1 point for 5th place.

Categories with 5 votes each are (choose which category you think a performer belongs in one time only – if they gets votes in more than one category their votes/points will be combined in whichever category they have the most points in):

    Best Actress

    Best Actor

    Best Supporting Actress

    Best Supporting Actor

    Best Guest/Limited Performer

Lifetime Achievement (previous winners who you cannot vote for are: Agnes Nixon, Helen Wagner, David Canary, Eileen Fulton, Susan Lucci, Jeanne Cooper, Erika Slezak, Robin Strasser, Elizabeth Hubbard, Genie Francis, Deidre Hall, Kathryn Hays, Jane Elliot, Susan Seaforth Hayes, Suzanne Rogers, and Don Hastings)

Note about the Legacy Award: we will be nominating a top ten and voting in the second round “Hall of Fame” style, with anyone who receives 67% of the vote winning the award. There will be a maximum of 3 deceased in 2021 and a minimum of 7 deceased before 2021 on the final ballot.

Please submit 4 votes each in these last two categories:

Best Younger Actress (choose 4 of the following):

    Can we put FYCs?

I would ask that everybody limit their FYC’s to 3 each.

I plan on bumping this up each day for the next 9 days so FYC’s being spread out can help with it!

    Thanks!

    Hello!!

Thank you so much for planning and organizing this!

I was wondering if we can vote multiple times, or is this a one-time basis? Meaning is just one ballot per person, or is it possible to send in unlimited or set amounts of ballots?

One ballot per person per round of voting. This is the nominating phase round.

Amazing! Thank you for answering my question!

Another quick question, I assume for each category (with the exception of Younger Actor/Actress of course), we pick five different people, correct? Precisely, we would not be able to pick the same actor as our first and second choice, in order to heighten his or her chance?

Yes, you choose five performers per category, and no you cannot choose the same actor more than once. The only exception is Wally Kurth, who you can cite for both Days Of Our Lives and General Hospital if you choose to do so as separate choices (but please let me know which show you are citing him for if he is on your ballot).

Wondering whether to put Josh Morrow (Nick, Y&R) as Lead Actor or Supporting Actor? Thoughts? I have him as Supporting Actor in my year-end Best and Worst.

This is a FYC too, I guess. 😉

My advice is to put performers in the categories you think they belong in. If they get votes in more than one category that will be factored in to whichever category they receive more points in.

Just for fun here is my 3-4 leads per show:

    Best Actress

B&B: Jacqueline MacInnes Wood, Annika Noelle, and Rena Sofer

Days: Camila Banus, Deidre Hall, Alison Sweeney, and Arianne Zucker

GH: Kirsten Storms, Cynthia Watros, Maura West, and Laura Wright

Y&R: Sharon Case, Melissa Clare Egan, Melissa Ordway, and Michelle Stafford

    Best Actor

B&B: Scott Clifton, Don Diamont, Thorsten Kaye, and John McCook

Days: Brandon Barash, Dan Feuerriegel, Paul Telfer, and Robert Scott Wilson

GH: Maurice Benard, Steve Burton, Michael Easton, and Josh Swickard

Y&R: Eric Braeden, Richard Burgi, Mark Grossman, and Joshua Morrow

But I am certain others would see it differently!!!!

    Great! Thank you!

For the Lifetime Achievement and Legacy Award: Do we also place five candidates on our ballots?

I apologize for all these questions, as you can, see, I am new to this haha.
