I figured A Very Salem Christmas could use its own comment and reaction thread apart from the main show threat or the Beyond Salem thread.
The trailer that just came out looks like a lot of fun!
https://daytimeconfidential.com/2021/12/07/watch-peacock-unveils-trailer-for-days-of-our-lives-a-very-salem-christmas-videoI know a lot of the Stacy Haiduk fans were complaining that while Eileen Davidson’s recent appearances in Beyond Salem and on the main show made sense in their contexts, it was just disrespectful to use Eileen in this movie over Stacy. But seeing her with Drake Hogestyn in the trailer, of course this makes more sense than using Stacy, who has no real history or chemistry with Drake and Deidre. (You could argue that the show is just writing these things to be able to use Eileen in them, but so what? She’s a pretty huge draw for long-time fans of the show and of Y&R.)

Love you know who popping up as his wife!!!
Love the costuming and look for Paul Telfer and Greg Rikaart!
So happy Alison Sweeney is one of the participants! What role will Will write for his mother???

ReplyCopy URLDecember 15, 2021 at 10:04 am #1204657856Dishin’ Days has 3 separate interviews up: one with Chandler Massey and Zack Tinker (Wilson); one with Deidre Hall (Marlena/Mardevil); and one with Eileen Davidson (Kristen) – the last is very funny and the most enjoyable! Chandler seemed a bit tired and distracted. They are each about 10 minutes long.
ReplyCopy URLDecember 15, 2021 at 10:43 am #1204658011I’ll have to check those out! I probably won’t get to watch the movie until Friday night.
ReplyCopy URLDecember 16, 2021 at 3:20 am #1204659459I think they are charging a separate $5 for the film.

Loved the imaginative pairing of Deidre Hall and Alison Sweeney (but poor Roman – Will killed him off!). Eileen Davidson was clearly having a blast. It was fun but insubstantial.
ReplyCopy URLDecember 20, 2021 at 9:38 am #1204668638I loved the movie. It was really fun and just played up a lot of crowd-pleasing elements. One of the funniest bits to me was thinking about how Will threw some people pretty under the bus. Leo and Xander got to save the day (Leo is now two for two in terms of saving the day in these DAYS off-shoots), but Nicole was like the wicked witch, and poor Roman was dead! It was great that they brought back the drag show (Billy Flynn only being in the drag show was so so funny to me) and added in the sexy Santa routine, which I will definitely have to take in a couple more times. I also liked the plays on the show’s history — like Marlena having stayed with Roman and John thus being with Kristen, and the Sydney baby switch not having been discovered yet. Just a fun time overall.
