    Series: b&b
    Writing: days
    Directing: y&r
    Actor: Peter Bergman
    Actress: Eileen Davidson
    Supporting Actor: Chandler Massey
    Supporting Actress: Marla Adams
Younger Actor & Actress: Good god daytime casting directors, Step It UP.
And add me to the list that thinks Drew Carey’s omission, but The Price Is Right inclusion & now Wayne Brady has political overtures on perception of their individual character & perceived job they do.

I don’t know why but the song/musical performance nominated for their performance on the Rachel Ray show is addicting.

For me, Andra Day and Common joining the couple of dozen children from the Baltimore Catholic School is joyous television. Their performance is top notch, but the inclusion and celebration of the children on that set puts this nomination over the top.

I think its between Andra and Common and Dear Evan Hanson personally but if it gets Ben Platt or Common an Emmy that could be cool.

I would be unhappy if GH were to win for Drama Series again; Billy Miller for GH; Laura Wright for GH; Wally Kurth or Anthony Monmtgomery for GH; Elizabeth Hendrickson for Y&R (because the other three Y&R actresses are so much more deaserving); anyone but Casey Moss for Younger Actor; Cait Fairbanks for Y&R – I could live with wins for everyone else.

The ones I am rooting the most for: Casey Moss, Marla Adams, Days for Drama Series, Directing and Writing. Chandler Massey but I would also love to see Greg Vuaghan finally win an overdue Emmy (he should have won for 2013 and 2016)

I am so torn between 3 actresses in Lead Actress: Eileen, Nancy and Maura. Any of them would be great (but Judi or Deidre really ought to be winning for their work in 2017). Marci Miller would be a surprise but she really quite good imo. Laura Wright would make me very unhappy. I think Maura is going to win – I am wondering if the scene of hers I loved so much is in her reel? She was looking in the mirror at her reflection and had a monologue that gave me chills the acting was so good!

Why would Laura Wright make u unhappy? She was fantastic and was amazing with the Jason scenes. She always brings it.

^two reasons: she is nowhere near as good as her co-stars NLG and MW; she is a screecher and over-acts her scenes imo. I understand that others adore her and they are entitled to their opinions. I said it would make ME unhappy! I did not like those scenes at all with the Jason return, probably because I can’t stand Jason and dislike the focus of the show being so much on my least favorite characters: Sonny, Jason and Carly. I know others think “she always brings it” but I find that she brings too much of it – jmo. The other reason: 3 of the actresses really did bring it: Eileen, Nancy and Maura, and I would even prefer Marci. Never mind Judi Evans and Deidre Hall, who were even better than any of them.

I agree with this 1000000000%. This will come down to Eileen vs vs Maura..but I have the latter winning.

I wonder how people would feel if Eileen won over Maura? I think I’m fine either way it goes. I love both actresses. Maura was my favorite on ATWT (I’m still grieving 8 years later) and I have watched Eileen on Y&R, B&B, Days, and SB. She’s always been a great actress especially on Days playing Kristen, Susan, Sister Mary Moira, Thomas, and Penelope. I want Eileen Davidson to win but i also want Maura to win.

I’ll rather Eileen win if it doesn’t go to Maura. If anyone other than 5hese 2 don’t get it then we ALL knew it was bull****.

Wally Kurth submitted scenes in the bar when he asked Olivia to marry him. Then scenes with Michael in the Quartermaine den where he is challenging him and they have a confrontation about the business. Then 2 or 3 scenes with Tracey where she is telling him about Edward’s letter and he asks her why did she need a letter to let her know that he loved her. Last was a happy scene outside of Olivia’s room before the wedding and telling her she could wear anything and be the most beautiful bride in the world.

I didn’t watch a lot of GH last year, so I’m not really familiar with any of these but it sounds like a good range of emotions. I’m excited to watch it and see how it stacks up!

Has an actor/actress in lead ever won with three actors from the same show in the category? Will not Days and Y&R votes combined be enough to give ED the win over MW who may split the vote with two of her castmates.

I’m currently rooting for Eileen Davidson, but the reels may change my mind. I love Marci Miller, and I certainly respect Maura West’s talent. I wonder if a lot of the judges feel the way I often do, going into the process with a notion of who they want to vote for and just hoping the reels don’t make them change their minds. Of course, if I were actually voting, I wouldn’t approach it the same way.

Yes, it has happened that a lead actor/actress has beaten out several of their co-stars to win. In 2014, Jason Thompson was the lone non-resident of Genoa City (funny enough) in the lead actor category, facing Y&R’s Peter Bergman, Doug Davidson, Christian LeBlanc, and eventual winner Billy Miller.

The vote splitting doesn’t really come into play much, for a couple of reasons. The voting for the nominees and the winner was done at the same time, and the judges just worked from the prenom lists, watched the reels (presumably), and decided on nominees and winners. The winners were already decided when these nominees were announced. So while Maura, Laura, and NLG were competing with one another (and Kelly Monaco), Eileen was competing against Sharon Case, Melissa Claire Egan, and Gina Tognoni, and Marci Miller was competing against Mary Beth Evans and Judi Evans. But more importantly, the judges watch the reels and then give them scores. They don’t have to rank their choices, but rather just give every nominee/reel a score, I believe from 1 to 10. If a voter was biased in favor of, say, Y&R and wanted to give those actors a boost, they could just give all those reels 10s without disadvantaging any one of them in favor of the other.

Laura Wrigth mentioned that there were almost 50 names on the Supporting Actor list, which is why it really surprises me that Wally Kurth got a nomination – I did see those scenes when they first aired that he submitted and I find his nomination inexplicable.

EmmyLoser, where did you get your information? I ask because I have read they do ranked choice voting…

Those Ned/Tracy scenes were fantastic. The rest sounds strong. He’s a talented, popular vet long overdue for some recognition and he’s got 2 shows voting for him. I could see him win on his first nomination but he’s got tough competition. We know Massey, Vaughn and Montgomery submitted well. And Rikaart is always great. I think this’ll be the toughest category to predict.
