ERIC BRAEDEN!!! JACQUELINE MACINNES WOOD!!! HEATHER TOM!!! YEEEEEEEEEEEEES!!!
EILEEN DAVIDSON!! MICHELLE STAFFORD!! SCOTT CLIFTON!! TYLER CHRISTOPHER!! DARIN BROOKS!! ERIC MARTSOLF!! KASSIE DEPAIVA!!
In the words of Jon Dorenbos, it’s a great day to be alive!!January 24, 2019 at 5:32 pm #1202747460
So many sweet surprises… Stephen Nichols, Drake Hogestyn, Aaron D. Spears, Dominic Zamprogna, Linsey Godfrey, Martha Madison, Sal Stowers, to name a few
Really nice to see Laura Wright and Beth Maitland getting some redemption after their Goldies snubs!
Of course, there are always the dreaded omissions. No Judi Evans or Genie Francis, yikes! (it could be though that both decided to sit this year out) Gina Tognoni’s absence is also quite surprising. No Jen Lilley, Alley Mills, Joshua Morrow, or Jordi Vilasuso (a shame, as all four had the material to be competitive)
Most shocking snub, for me: Don Diamont. Seriously, what gives?! For the second time in a row, the poor guy has gotten overlooked for an incredible year of Emmy-worthy performances!January 24, 2019 at 5:34 pm #1202747464
^we don’t know if they were snubbed, they may have decided not to submit.January 24, 2019 at 5:44 pm #1202747469
AWESOME that, for the first time, the pre-nominees have been released for not just the Guest Performer but also the Digital Series categories! Bravo to the Academy!
Nice to see the B&B actors getting much love in the Guest category. Most excited for Hunter Tylo! I was really hoping she’d submit her work, and she so deserves a win here (if anything, to make up for the Emmy – nom & win – she was inexplicably robbed of during the year in which Darla died, where Tylo turned in one stellar performance after the other).
Interesting to see other names making the line-up which I had considered but did not include in my final Guest Performer predix (I’d believed there could only be ten pre-nominees lol), ie. James Read, Thaao Penghlis, Kelly Kruger, and Cassandra James (though I was genuinely shocked fellow GH castmates Greg Evigan, James DePaiva, and even previous winner in this category, Donna Mills, were left off)January 24, 2019 at 6:15 pm #1202747492
^we don’t know if they were snubbed, they may have decided not to submit.
True, which may also explain why the likes of Roger Howarth, Christel Khalil, Lexi Ainsworth, Hunter King, Lauren Woodland, and Jonathan Stoddard (whose guest turn as middle-aged John Abbott was very impressive) are absent from the list.January 24, 2019 at 6:21 pm #1202747497
^if they were eligible for younger actor/actress or guest performer we do know since all of the performers who submitted are on the lists. I do wish we could know who submitted and who didn’t! (:January 24, 2019 at 6:41 pm #1202747507
^^^ Correct, for the Younger acting fields, but I don’t think the same holds true for the Guest performer category. I’m having a hard time believing a total of only thirteen performers from all four drama series submitted their work for consideration to the Guest category.January 24, 2019 at 7:01 pm #1202747510
Does anyone else find it odd that a likely nominee from GH in LEAD actor isn’t even a contract player?January 24, 2019 at 9:52 pm #1202747652
^^^ Lol! Then again, Jordan Clarke (who played Billy Lewis on Guiding Light) was also not on contract with the show when he was nominated and won for best supporting actor in 2006. It wasn’t for lead actor, but still…
How awesome would it be though to see both Jon Lindstrom and Maura West nominated alongside each other again for roles on the same show, just as they were in 2010 when they earned lead nominations for their work on ATWT as Craig Montgomery and Carly Tenney, respectively. Maura even won! Co-star Michael Park (Jack Snyder) who was also nominated that year, won the lead actor prize.
If Maura wins again this year, perhaps she’ll be Jon’s good luck charm in taking home the trophy!January 25, 2019 at 3:47 am #1202747845
Best Actress should be a close contest between Amelia Heinle and Maura West – it will come down to submissions. If Heinle submits scenes from the J.T. abusing Victoria episode followed by her admission scene of the abuse she will be very hard to beat. Maura ought to submit the best scenes from the standalone showcase episode followed by the scene where she commands dead Kiki to get up from the mortuary table. Both really deserve to win this year. (so of course someone else will, right?) (;January 25, 2019 at 8:45 am #1202748072
These are some of the worst pre-noms I have ever seen and the nominations will probably be the worst I have ever seen. You know it was a weak year when Drake Hogestyn gets a pre-nom. I have absolutely no clue how Camila Banus, Chandler Massey, and Greg Vaughn didn’t get pre-noms. Camila and Greg gave two of the best performances this year. Even Days winning Best Daytime Drama won’t make up for these awful nominations.January 25, 2019 at 9:16 am #1202748105
Drake H got in because he submitted a strong tape (for a story he got a tone of praise for)…clearly his fellow actors agreed, otherwise he wouldn’t have made the cutJanuary 25, 2019 at 9:24 am #1202748111
I actually think most of these pre-noms are quite strong, especially the Best Actress category. Drake Hogestyn was great in the DNR story and that is the basis of his inclusion. Since we don’t know if the actors missing were snubbed or decided not to submit this year it’s impossible to get upset without that knowledge.
I have a strong feeling GH or Y&R will win Drama Series this year. Depends of course on which episodes each show submits but it’s rare for a show to win two years in a row.January 25, 2019 at 10:09 am #1202748143
WTF with Tyler Christopher? He’s already left the show, and Stefan is nothing more than a sneering villain, something that Christopher doesn’t really do well. What could he have submitted?January 25, 2019 at 10:40 am #1202748167
^He (Tyler Christopher) hasn’t left the show, he has taken a leave of absence. He had some terrific scenes with Abigail when he thought she was Gabby as recently as December. He actually had quite a few strong scenes he could submit throughout the year.
As I read through the names I can think of specific episodes each could submit! (:
